Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media
WASHINGTON A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.
CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.
One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."

Thankfully, they're all required to sign secrecy agreements which requires eveyone to submit to polygraphs.

Bet she liked Clinton a whole lot more than 41 and 43. Remember when Hellary turned white when Rummy caught her at the Senate Hearings about knowing about the Abu Ghraib report before he and the Pentegon did ??

"But it also says Mary McCarthy, the national security councils senior director responsible for intelligence, warned Mr. Clintons national security adviser, Sandy Berger we will need much better intelligence on this facility before we seriously consider any options, and that the link between al Shifa and Mr.bin Laden was rather uncertain at this point.

You know I remember reading somewhere about intell leaks coming from the Sen Intell committee meetings.
It was a timeline of their briefings (which are listed on their website as such), and the comparison to Dana Priest's stories being published.
I wish I could remember where I read it.

"One of the major obstacles to effective intelligence is excessive secrecy, McCarthy said.
There is a worry about their information being compromised which is quite logical but they also worry about losing their bureaucratic advantage, she added. Knowledge is power.
Adding to the problem, there is a growing number of government officials who have the power to classify information, McCarthy said, including the secretary of agriculture. Some information that was previously public has now been made secret."

With Scooter Libby (and maybe Rove) facing charges over the Plame affair and President Bush facing possible impeachment hearings (trumped up) if the Dims win the house, look for President and Bush to swing for the fench on this one. They will take NO PRISONERS here. Trust me. If Rockefeller, Durbin, Levin, et al are caught up in any of these investigations, and I would not bet against it, look for Bush and Cheney to seek some heads being served up.
There is too much at stake here with what I mentioned above and the war on terror.

I couldn't find any political contributions from Mary McCarthy in either Washington DC or VA. However, MSNBC names her husband as Michael. A Michael McCarthy of DC contributed $2250 to Kerry.
I have no idea if they are related though.

"Mary McCarthy, worked in the CIA's inspector general's office and had worked for the National Security Council under the Clinton and and George W. Bush administrations."
This is according to PMS-NBC. She has been in proximity to Richard Clarke for quite a few years (while under Sandy Burglar at the NSC), so this may have truly gigantic implications if they can get her to talk in a plea-bargain!! Wouldn't it be nice if she turns out to have had seditious contacts with Clarke, Burglar, the Wilsons, and a whole host of scumbags who have busily undermining our country.... I would like to know exactly when/how she went from the NSC to the CIA IG's office - was this a parting trojan-horse the Clintonlites inserted (probably one of many) to control things in the new administration?? That would be typical Clintonista behavior...... I trust they are scouring her phone and email records back to the beginning of her work in the CIA IG's office, and I hope they are turning up lots of goodies. I would expect that there are quite a number of moles like her in the CIA (and State, of course, is overrun with people like her).
Dozens of successful prosecutions would be a good start!

Kennedy is promoting a new book he wrote. The Sunday talk show circuit is just part of his book tour promotion.
