Just to clarify, this is a thread discussing both what is happening LIVE across the country as Illegal Immigrants protest their Illegality, and what to do about it. Let's discuss VIABLE options as to what to do about this issue. I have a sneaking suspicion that this "Protest" of American LAW is going to be pretty big. I predict that there is going to be a LOT of pandering to these 11 million or so criminals by our Politicians. I sincerely hope not. To any and all Politicos of all parties, WE the PEOPLE are watching you, and LISTENING to what you are going to say today. 289 million of us LEGAL citizens will see with pristine clarity just WHO in the Political arena is looking out for US, the people who VOTED you into Office in the first place. The biggest question on my mind and perhaps one or two others is: Are you going to protect and serve as you promised and swore to up-hold the Constitution or not? Are you going to up-hold out law or are you going to support the Illegal’s? 298 million to 11 million. You do the math. Let’s roll.

BTW, re: the protest in Dallas yesterday that had about 350,000 supposedly. A local radio talk show host went there, and walked around all afternoon...
He said he did NOT find one person, (other than the politicians giving speeches)...that spoke ENGLISH!! He couldn't find on the he could interview!!!
AND, all of the speeches were in Spanish of course...

Some of these guys working under phony documents have had tax withheld for years. When the finally file they will probably get large refunds and in some cases EIC payments.
Of course. Inflame the issue with immigration rallies and protests and thereby turn the GOP base against Bush and the Republicans in the Senate. Divide and conquer.

Not every problem is as trivial as a thorn in the heel.
I have a favorite "ethnic joke" (I figure I can tell it, since it's my ethnicity). It goes like this:
Two Jews -- a husband and wife -- are standing in front of a trench in a Nazi concentration camp during WWII. The trench is filled with bodies -- most dead, some still writhing.
Behind them stands a Nazi guard with a machinegun.
The Nazi guard cocks the bolt of his machinegun.
The husband hears that, and says, "Lousy stinking Nazi sonofabitch!"
The wife elbows him and says, "Shush! You'll make him mad!"
So... what kind of advice would you have for THOSE people? After all, "every problem has a solution" -- and THEIR problem is pretty obvious. So what's the solution?
The wife TRIED implementing a "solution" of sorts -- probably the only one imaginable -- and it serves as the punchline of a joke.
Do they run? No, that won't work. Turn around and fight the guard? No, I don't think so. What does that leave?
Save for the absurd or the impossible deus ex machina, it leaves NOTHING.
Want another example? I got a million of 'em. The passengers on that flight out of JFK a week or so after 9/11. They'd just taken off. Then, both engines AND the tail broke off their plane, and fell to the ground.
I'd say their problem is fairly well-defined. So, what is the SOLUTION to their problem? After all, "every problem has a solution."
I'll stop there, but I could go all day. Like I said, I got a million of 'em. That's because there are an endless variety of problems WITHOUT a solution -- unless "sorry, you die" is "a solution."

As Newt says, if there are no jobs, they will deport themselves. Enforce existing employer laws and SIEZE PROPERTY OF THOSE EMPLOYERS WHO HAVE USED ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.
If things continue along as they are there will be no comprehensive agreement either through Senate impasse or failure in conference.
Eventually this will benefit Republicans because Democrats are being forced into the position of denouncing increased border enforcement and stiff penalties. Even Rinos are for increased border enforcement and penalties.

If, as it seems, you are suggesting insurrection, I'd classify that as a "no solution" -- other than the aforementioned, "sorry, you die" type "solution".
The overwhelming power of the circa 21st century federal government, combined with the net results of several generations of sloth inculcated into the thoroughly pacified populace, leaves you with a guaranteed horror of an utter defeat if you try something like that.
Two representatives of both the Republican and Democrat parties are on CSpan trying to make a case FOR Illegal immigration, and the callers are giving them HELL to pay...whoo-hooo!!!! I love it!

And that may cause more of a backlash than wrapping themselves in the Mexican flag.
Shunning English may play well in Schwarzenegger's California but probably not so well in the Heartland. Will be interesting to see.
This afternoon, one group (maybe Phoenix) will recite en masse the Pledge of Allegiance. That too will be interesting to watch. Will the chorus sing out in English or en espaňol?

Demo-Babe is saying that the economic disparity between Mexico and the USA must be addressed. I guess importing Mexico's poverty is the answer.

I guess I'm a naive idealist. I still believe that every problem has s solution. Sometimes you can't see it and sometimes you can. Sometimes the solution is easy, and sometimes impossibly hard to accept. Sometimes the solution is to just hold your head high and go down with the ship because there is nothing else you can do except put it in God's hands. That is just life. Would you die for your ideals and beliefs?
As for what we were talking about earlier, yes there is a solution. You fight. You refuse to accept the situation dealt to you. You do not blindly accept. The solution is that you try.
Rush said that Teddy Kennedy is supposed to speak at the Washington rally this afternoon about 4:30!
I gotta tell you---these politicians better look out into these crowds...because it looks like the Muslims groups are joining in on all of this "free publicity"...
I wouldn't want MY name attached to endorsing not only illegals from Mexico and South America...but Muslims from the Middle East...
Well...unless you are Teddy Kennedy of course..he is UNTOUCHABLE!! pffffft
