SENATOR SESSIONS ON SECURING AMERICA'S BORDERS ACT Mr. President, I thank Senator Leahy, ranking member on the Judiciary Committee. I have received just this afternoon in my office some disturbing news in the form of correspondence from the Congressional Budget Office. It suggests a number of areas where the amendment we are talking about here today, No. 3424, the immigration so-called compromise, violates our budget and the rules of the Senate. Let me read from the correspondence we have received. This is something, as you know, Mr. President, as a member of the Judiciary Committee, that we never discussed at all. It is not a matter we spent any time at all discussing as we moved forward with legislation which ultimately cleared that committee and came to the floor — legislation which I thought was not good legislation and which I opposed, and so did the Senator from Texas, who just relinquished the Chair. We didn't discuss the financial impact of the legislation before us. Stand Up For America !

Oh, yeah. I know who Lou Dobbs is. I think I've seen two or three minutes of him before. That is the extent of my CNN watching. I can barely take FOX News although I regularly watch O'Reilly, H&C and Brit Hume. Brit's show is good. It's all just slime oozing from the video set. For the most part. I mainly see it as keeping tabs on the enemy.

Mate, I react against the purjorative use of "Immigrant" as being "Bad".

I've just come across this...is your thinking to have something sorta like the Threat Matrix thread? A place to come see a recap of the day's Illegal Immigration posts and activities?

I'm off to visit family for the day...I'll check back this evening to see where we can go with this.

Exactly HiJinx, we are so busy everyday now on this issue and Threat Matrix was such a success and less wear and tear, I thought we could try it. I've been posting my Immigration Daily Summary at TM and hijacking it, so some TM'ers who are passionate on this issue suggested to try it.

Republican leader rejects guest worker plan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - House of Representatives Majority Leader John Boehner on Sunday rejected efforts to establish a guest worker program in the United States, despite calls from President Bush to make provisions for millions of current illegal immigrants.

Boehner, an Ohio Republican, said he supported a bill already passed by the House that focuses on tightening up the nation's borders but does not include a program for temporary workers.
