Social Democrats called themselves 'progressives'. However, the implementation of their policies (Welfare State) leads not to the happy land of multi-culti, can't-we-all-get-along, utiopia. It's leads to fascism, racism and the war of all against all.

"Inherit" is such the wrong word.  "Ruin" is far more apropos.

Turkey could become the model for the future Islamic world, besting the medieval ideology of Islamism, narrow-mindedness, hate and violence preached by Osama bin Laden and his ilk.

I suppose it could be, but indications are it is slowing sinking into the same sump pit as the rest of Islam as the more fundamentalist factions gain power within their "secular" government.

Not the best headline, IMHO - the author makes a very good case that the Muslims aren't interested in Europe's civilization at all. I did find this statistic interesting:
