WELCOME TO RECONQUISTA
***scroll for updates...Bush warns against stoking anti-immigrant feelings. Wants a "civil debate." Video here...Ok. Tell that to the divisive militants below...***
As Mickey Kaus points out, the reporters at the Los Angeles Times (and all other major media, for that matter) have downplayed the radical ethnic separatism that characterized the pro-illegal immigration rallies over the weekend. While the Times misleadingly asserted that the Los Angeles rally "featured more American flags than those from any other country," its reporters conveniently ignored marchers with extremist signs and banners advocating America-undermining concepts of reconquista and Aztlan: And does anyone remember this billboard from last year? These sentiments, as I've noted before, are not limited to ethnic fringe groups--but also mainstream Democrat politicians and campus chapters of the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or MEChA. Welcome to reconquista. Where are all the assimilationists now? *** Can you image the uproar over someone holding up a sign that read "White is Beautiful?" More on display in Wisconsin:
Who's organizing the illegal alien rallies? Lonewacko investigates the role of a former Mexican consul in Georgia. Flashback: Heather Mac Donald's November 2005 exposé of the expanding political role of Mexico's consular offices in the U.S. is must-read and must-re-read. Flashback: Lawrence Auster outlines The Second Mexican War. Mark Krikorian sees something I've been noting myself lately--an analogy between the reconquista movement in the U.S. and Europe's dhimmification. Another similarity between the reconquistas and the jihadists: hatred of Jews--and people married to Jews. Tom Tancredo is not afraid of the demonizers. Yahoo! coverage of the immigration debate. Bryan Preston has a proposal. Have you heard about the "rent-a-family" scheme? Patterico defuses hysteria over the House-passed proposal to make illegal immigration and illegal presence felony crimes. *** Previous: Minutemen attacked |
I have said before and I will say it again, "what a pathetic country we have become", compassionate conservatism my ass!
I was being sarcastic about annexing Mexico...but their oil revenues would help us out. ;^)
Part 1: The patricians sell out the working class by not securing the border.
Part 2: The election of agents of Mexico (ie LA mayor Villaraigosa ) to important office.
Part 3: Cowing the tax paying working class into passivity.
The quasi-independent republic of Gringolandia will in business with in 20 years.
I say give'em kullyfohnia and then maybe they'll leave us alone.
Dear Local, County, State, and Federal government leaders, past and present:
This is what you get when you choose to ignore those that choose to ignore the law of the land.
The dam's kinda hard to fix with water rushing through it, no?
Signed,
An American Citizen (like that has any meaning anymore)
Any way you slice it, the hispanic population is going to grow. I don't mind the Hispanic people. They are hard working and Catholic, two things I espouse despite being white collar. The problem I have is the illegal immigration and the idea that it's ok for them to be here when people like my grandfather and grandmother came over "on the boat," and paid their dues to get citizenship.
This just in...
Unable to refute a single point she makes, posters resort to @ssinine attacks on her manner of presentation rather than the content therein.
They urge a secession from the US. Didn't we fight a war about that already?
Apparently, the first link in my post #59 is not so good.
Here's a better one:

I think the Mexican government has pulled all the sites with the official version.
This whole thing is beyond disgusting and sickening. People massed in the streets with banners like that do not consititute lawful assembly, but rebellion.
"No, it was mostly because of the gold and silver pillaged out of South America."
Gee are we definite today?! So why did Spain have all those colonies in the Americas and England did not? Spain had to get there. It took strength to get to Peru. Jamestown came over one hundred years after 1492 for a reason.
Would you and I be getting phone calls from the principal?
I'm with you brother. I said the exact same thing.
It's getting worse here in Texas and our governor is as blind as Bush.
Parts of Houston look like Mexico, immigrants refuse to speak English. Whenever you put two Spanish speaking people together, even in a professional office environment, they start speaking Spanish.
