Re: Your attempt to shut down political free speech on the Internet

John McCain, you treasonous bastard, I challenge you or any of your traitorous cohorts to find even one thread, one post, one paragraph, one sentence or even one lousy word posted to this web site that is not fully protected by the First Amendment!

And I will extend that to one chapter, one group, one poster or any group of posters on this forum. Name one assembly, petition, letter, protest, meeting or rally convened, filed, submitted, attended or supported by members of this forum that is not 100% protected and guaranteed as free speech or free assembly by the First Amendment!

Your McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform legislation is a treasonous act. You and your cohorts are attempting to subvert the Constitution of the United States of America, the very same constitution that you swore an oath to defend, so help you God! That makes you a domestic enemy of that great document and a traitor to your country. Yes, and Benedict Arnold was a war hero before he turned traitor too.

How dare you even think that you are qualified to sit in the oval office! Ronald Reagan's office! President? Hah! You miserable excuse for a two-bit political hack, you're not even qualified to shine Ronald Reagan's boots. If you do run, I'm afraid you're gonna be at least one vote short. It'll be a cold day in hell before a traitor like you ever receives my vote. And that's a campaign promise you can take to the bank.

You can take your fascist campaign finance laws and the jackbooted FEC anti-free-speech enforcers you are empowering and put them where the sun don't shine. And if this post is in violation of your unconstitutional law, shove it too!

Paraphrased from In the Face of Evil: Reagan's War in Word and Deed:

The Beast never dies, it simply changes form. The Beast has known many forms: Bolshevism, communism, Nazism, fascism. The Beast has had many names: Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Tojo, Mao, Pol Pot.

The Beast cannot co-exist with freedom. The very first freedom lost is the freedom of speech, then religion, knowledge and the arts. Anything that empowers the individual must be destroyed. The state must control all.

Power to the state.

Power as an end to itself.

Those who speak out against the Beast are labeled extremists, radicals, warmongers. Churchill, McCarthy, Reagan.

The Beast must be contained, appeased. We must have "Detente" at any cost. Direct confrontation of the Beast must be avoided.

Appease him and pray the wolf may pass our door.

Free speech must die.

The Beast never dies.

We are going to need those articles, and some of those newbies are going to get quite an education.

It's never as good as following it as it happened though. I will never forget those years. They were absolutely stunning. : )

Just for the record, in no way is post #531 intended to be any kind of physical threat to McCain. That is just a famous picture and a famous line from the classic Clint Eastwood movie, "Dirty Harry."

If you understood the political realities of the situation you would understand a large segment of the base will not vote for McCain ensuring a Democrat wins election.

It doesn't matter if you think Hillary is worse. Enough people disagree that is the practical reality in an election. Check '92 and '96 for example. Both against a Clinton btw. Neither does it matter what anyone thinks of those that throw an election to the Dem. This is what will happen.

I'm tired of stating it because I feel I run into a roadblock everytime. As though some folks don't want to acknowledge the base has done this before, and they'll do it again. You can disagree, you can dislike it, some folks will call us stupid....but there is a track record to suggest this will happen again. You have NO track record to point to that suggests history will not repeat.

Probably with the GOP...with the DNC, it's anyone's guess. It won't be HITLERY!, though.

"So this is how it ends? Not with a bang but with a whimper. We scarifies our liberties under the guise of "fairness". Interesting how all the totalitarian groups always start out telling us how they are going to "protect" the little guy."

In the Federalist papers, I think it was Hamilton who laid out the greatest threat to our freedoms and constitution would come from what you have just laid out.

Thank You Brother for EVERYTHING you do for America

It was an honor and privilege to meet you, Shelia and Chris
in Aug 2004 before the reelection of President Bush.

Remember FN Harper at Station Coos Bay,
the 18 yr old FN who gave the 3 of you briefings
on the 47 and 52 boats?

He asked about you a few months ago.
I suspect he lurks here from time to time.
I don't discuss politics on base
BUT he did get the FR website from me when you were here.

*SALUTE*

There was a new song Oscar Brand played on last weekend's Folk Song Festival entitled Aces For The Enemy.

I was suprised, because it was essentially a conservative diatribe against fifth columnists, and media jackals that drag down our country during times of war.

He usually doesn't play patriotic songs-at least, not ones that have been written recently-and never plays anything that could be even remotely construed as conservative, or anti-leftist in nature.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Anyway, where did that phrase come from originally?

"IF" McCain is the GOP nominee, a large segment of the base will vote for him and so will Independents. He is known and liked by Independents and by a fairly large segment of democrats who dont like Hillary.

Not directly for him, no, you are not.

But if he were the nominee you advanced the argument that Judges alone should argue for support for the Republican.

I don't support your conclusion a Republican guarentees success on the Courts. Especially when that Republican admires O'Connor and prevents Constitutionally minded judges from receiving an up or down vote.

On most of the candidates seeking the W.H. I'd be forced to roll the dice, and probably would, on this issue that they'd continue G.W.B's record. With McCain I know what he would do. Your argument cannot dent his record on the issue.

"We need to start paying attention .. and I am dead serious on that."

Good point. I'm not sure the electoral college issue is on the radar screen yet with the RNC. They need to pay attention to any creeping invasion of democRATs in state legislatures. I think if an amendment was drafted and submitted for approval, that would wake up the GOP really fast to the danger here. Destruction of the electoral college would open the door to rampant, uncontrolled vote fraud in the big blue states in presidential elections. We would then witness de facto coupe d'etats by the Dem party to seize control of the White House.

Only STUPID ones would vote third party and hand over the White House to the Democrats.

The only really stupid thing is to keep voting for the lesser of two evils and expecting things not to keep getting worse.

If the country I grew up knowing as The United States of America is to survive we have two choices either a voter revolution where we stop these two parties from monopolizing our elections and votes through their brainwashing campaigns.

Or an armed revolution.

The Founding Fathers provided us with the means for both in our Constitution.

Success with either one will not be accomplished without pain or loss.

One may mean a democrat in the White House the other might mean the blood of our children or grandchildren.

The sensible one is done at the voting booth.

The GOP is the only hope this country has to defeat democrats.

But what is the point of defeating the democrats if you are left with a GOP that is scarcely better? Defeat democrats so that the GOP can get tough on illegal immigration? No, the GOP doesn't stand for that anymore. Defeat democrats so the GOP can protect American jobs? No, the GOP and Democrats are in lock-step on their support of NAFTA and the like. Defeat democrats so the GOP can rein in irresponsible spending? Don't make me laugh.

Here's a few things to think about:

SEN. JOE BIDEN - RANKING MEMBER ON FOREIGN RELATIONS

Charles Rangel -- RANKING MEMBER ON WAYS AND MEANS

Patrick Leahey -- RANKING MEMBER on JUDICIARY

To name a few.

The GOP is not the "only hope" this country has. In fact, JFK was more right than most present GOP critters. The HOPE is ultimately in God... and the sovereignty of our country. Conservative ... that is what the GOP is suppose to stand for. Not more conservative than frickin' lefty liberals... that's not good enough... it's not acceptable.
