If you understood the political realities of the situation you would understand a large segment of the base will not vote for McCain ensuring a Democrat wins election.
It doesn't matter if you think Hillary is worse. Enough people disagree that is the practical reality in an election. Check '92 and '96 for example. Both against a Clinton btw. Neither does it matter what anyone thinks of those that throw an election to the Dem. This is what will happen.
I'm tired of stating it because I feel I run into a roadblock everytime. As though some folks don't want to acknowledge the base has done this before, and they'll do it again. You can disagree, you can dislike it, some folks will call us stupid....but there is a track record to suggest this will happen again. You have NO track record to point to that suggests history will not repeat.
"IF" McCain is the GOP nominee, a large segment of the base will vote for him and so will Independents. He is known and liked by Independents and by a fairly large segment of democrats who dont like Hillary.
I'm arguing history will repeat if another Clinton is elected.
And I'm arguing if those two are our choices, we should work to elect McCain.
Maybe you will sit back and accept that history repeats and thus Hillary would be elected. I won't. I see that as defeatism.
