On April 6-7, 2006, Students for Academic Freedom will host its First National Academic Freedom Conference featuring a debate between Students for Academic Freedom Chairman David Horowitz and University of Colorado-Boulder Professor Ward Churchill. The topic for debate will be: Can Politics Be Taken Out Of The Classroom, and Should It Be?
The debate will be held Thursday evening on the campus of George Washington University in Washington, DC. Young Americas Foundation and the Center for the Study of Popular Culture are the co-hosts of the debate. Seating for the debate is limited and will be determined by George Washington University. Conference registration does not guarantee admission to the debate.
The conference will also feature U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander, House Leader Jack Kingston, and Colorado high school student Sean Allen whose recording of an anti-American rant by his geography teacher, Jay Bennish, created a national furor over classroom indoctrination. The conference (apart from the debate) will take place at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, DC.
The conference is free for students, non-profit employees
Will Chief Wampum be able to put down the "peace pipe" long enough to be able to form coherent thoughts?
But can you ask him if the debate can be recorded - put on Hannity or podcast or something. I want to see this one...
Nevertheless, I have faith in him. He's no stranger to bare-knuckle politics, and unlike Ward Churchill, he's actually been in the ring. Churchill's career has been sparring with bantamweights.
I can't wait to see how wrong you are! Unless, of course, the debate is not real and not moderated. Then, you'd be correct! ;o)
New Ward Churchill Art Discovered ..."Fake but Accurate"...
It's never gonna happen; Churchill will weasel out of it....
Are you going to ping us interested folks?
Bringing a tutu to a gun fight.
I dont think face-to-face debating is Horowitzs strongest attribute. I seen him become flustered a couple of times. Of course thats usually when MSM only gives him 3 seconds to respond to a complex question.
If the debate was in writing, he could compete with the best of them.
Thank you for that link.....I've been looking for something like that......I want to show my relatives what REALLY happened......so THEY NEVER FORGET!
This should be good. I have seen Horowitz deal with an extreme lefty before. It was funny actually.
I look forward to the After-Action report on this event, GaryL. And tell your son he's doing a good job here in injun territory.
As much as I think Mr. Churchill is a jackass,I don't give much creedence to what"Ex-wives"say!
Gonna be a gun-fight and Churchill is definitely shooting blanks. Fun to watch!
its not fair having an intellectual battle between the two when Churchill is unarmed (chuckle)
Bump.
I'd still hope he goes and does his best.....people KNOW when they are being "conned."
I sent my liberal sister a link to the bodies of the jumpers after they landed--won't post it here--but the left needs to see what terrorism REALLY looks like up close and personal.
The first thing that I thought of is how phony psychics would never come on the old Tonight Show, after Carson, a former stage magician chewed a few of them to pieces. He knew the tricks.
Horowitz, a former Marxist, will know the tricks.
Video: Churchill advocates killing of Military Officers
Churchill: "Fragging an officer has a much more impactful effect"
Ward Churchill has made some more discpicable comments. This time, he is advocating military personnel to "roll a grenade under their line officer."
Churchill: "For those of you who do, as a matter of principle, oppose war in any form, the idea of supporting a conscientious objector who's already been inducted in his combat service in Iraq might have a certain appeal.
But let me ask you this: Would you render the same level of support to someone who hadn't conscientiously objected, but rather instead rolled a grenade under their line officer in order to neutralize the combat capacity of their unit?"
"...Conscientious objection removes a given piece of cannon fodder from the fray. Fragging an officer has a much more impactful effect." - Ward Churchill, Portland, Oregon- 6/23/05
