Apparently, the story is that they are preparing to release the docs, not that they were released.

Thanks for the info.

There were people on previous threads trashing Negroponte without basis.

Glad to see it all clarified.

Why now? Why not sooner?

C'mon. Just how fast do you think Karl Rove can learn Arabic well enough to forge all these? Heckuva performance if you ask me.

That is correct, they haven't been released yet.

"The documents were not released today, but the WH announced they are PREPARING to do so."

FTR..I think it is a bad idea. The Dems will use whatever comes out..just like our enemies will use it!! This is a bad idea all around.

Fine...however..this is not some Rovian masterpiece here..it makes our country look weak to our enemies. Like we don't have enough where with all to get the damn job done and we have to TOSS it out there on the WWWEB for help!! For crying out loud..this is insane!! The truth will come out soon enough for those with a sense of history...for those that demand it now?..I suspect politics of the worst order! This is not a good idea at all...It makes us look WEAK!!

I just scrolled through most of the thread so don't shoot me if someone has already asked this question. Who exactly will get access to the documents? Will there be enough security measures in place to prevent Berger-stuffing?

I so hope that they find ties to Al-Qaeda and Hussein in these documents.

What if it contains information on Bagdad Jim McDermott or the warnings that Rockefeller gave to Saddam?

I don't know about this particular batch, but I've always wondered if info like that might be in the treasure trove the guys from The Daily Telegraph found right after the fall of Baghdad. I don't recall ever hearing beans about what was in those boxes, some of which were labeled by country, IIRC.

Interesting that I misread the title TWICE to say, "Bush Admin Release 48K Boxes of Saddam Democrats".
Good indicator of the Democrats' status in my mind.

The media will narrow and boil 48L to a single line and we won't look good again.

While I certainly prefer GWB over McCain and any other like that, I sharply disagree with GWB on Medicare Prescription drugs, Education, spending/budgets, lack of veto of any larded legislation like the Transportation bill and the like. I support him on Terror issues, tax cuts, the interest in reforming social security, and the quality of his judicial picks.

I think history will show this - Bush was great on defense but was a big spender on the order of Lyndon Johnson on the economy.
