In that Don was originally from Morgantown, WV, I would imagine that Senator Byrd has already issued a press release claiming at least partial credit {as the powerful WV senator} for Mr. Knott's success!

He was a good one.

Godspeed Mr Knotts. Loved him in the Herbie movies and as Fife.

I always loved him. As a kid, I thought he was hysterical. He will be missed.

I've heard the term "get your cookies". Was the turtle speaking with the same meaning?

I maintain that Don Knotts as Barney Fife was the funniest character ever on TV. No one else has come close before or since, IMO.

Don't get me wrong, Gilligan was funny, but in my mind there is no comparison.

I really like The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. I love the pipe organ music.

Uh...NO. That's T.W. Turtle from Cats Don't Dance, he was obsessed with fortune cookies. Don Knotts did his voice. A better quote was "This morning, my fortune said 'Give it up, you loser.'"

But that just seemed kind of grim, what with him being dead and all...

My absolute favorite show of all time. Andy Griffith. I saw the one where the Darlings wanted a groom for Andeline Charlene's new baby and Barney was drinking "Mullberry Squeezins'" from the Darlings. Hilarious.

No more bud nipping. RIP.
