Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. "Wear Red" Friday

You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

But...sob...*I* have a two story house that I would like very much to just close off the upstairs and just use the downstairs. But my dh likes the larger master bedroom upstairs where he can keep all his exercise equipment set up. He is a fitness enthusiast.

Evening LadyX, I do hope you are doing well. I also hope that you are warmer down south than here. January was such a warm month and tonight we are at a frigid 11 degrees. The calendar keeps telling me we are heading to warmer weather but the temperature and that wind says NOT YET.

Maggie, the civil war reinactments are wonderful for feeling the flavor of life in the camps and on the battlefield. Of course they are much nicer than any battliefled camp would be but you get an idea of how they cooked etc.

I roared over the kitty banging the baby.. any of us who have had a lot of cats KNOWS the hysterical antics they kitties provide for us - alone or with other animals or people

I too until Sept 2001(when I found Oliver) was a cat only person. didn't have a clue what to do with dogs & found cats an easy pet.. for care & travel (just leave them LOTS of water, liter & food)...dogs are a lot more work! I think I even had a deeply repressed fear of cats as one attacked Jeff when he was a baby.

Cant believe I slept my way thru the evening & have a red face to explain to abandoned date tomorrow. At about 5 PM I took a "short nap".. Got up at 2AM!
