In the court (and courts) of life and death, a little 11-year-old Massachusetts girl named Haleigh Poutre could be the next Terri Schiavo. For those who have not heard the tragic story, Haleigh was beaten nearly to death last September, allegedly by her adoptive mother and stepfather. The beating left her unconscious and barely clinging to life.
Within a week or so of the beating, her doctors had written her off. They apparently told Haleigh's court-appointed guardian, Harry Spence, that she was "virtually brain dead." Even though he had never visited her, Spence quickly went to court seeking permission to remove her respirator and feeding tube. The court agreed, a decision affirmed recently by the supreme court of Massachusetts.
And so, no doubt with the best of intentions, a little girl who had already suffered so much was stripped by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of even the chance to fight to stay alive. If she didn't stop breathing when the respirator was removed, which doctors expected, she would slowly dehydrate to death.

We all read the judge's ruling that mischaracterized and misstated the evidence. If what the judge said had been true, that would be entirely different from the facts in this case.
Go back and read the transcript of that hearing. There was no evidence that Terri would have wanted to die under any circumstances. There was no evidence that Terri ever made any reference to a situation she later found herself in. There was ample credible evidence that she was morally opposed to killing or being killed.
I'm sure you're aware of the fact that those who supported Terri's right to live based that support on the actual evidence, and have repeatedly pointed out that certain judges, lawyers, journalists, politicians, and medical professionals have lied. If a judge has been accused of handing down a bad decision and lying in his summation of the facts, you cannot base an accurate opinion solely on the judge's word. If you want to know the truth, you must examine the actual evidence. When you do, and you see that the summation of the judge conflicts with the evidence, you can no longer accept his lies as proof that he told the truth.
You claim to have read the available documents, and if you really did, then you know Terri was murdered. There is no other conclusion that can be drawn from the available facts.
If you sense hostility, keep in mind, we are targeted by trolls and are watchful of their attempts to disrupt and hijack. I sincerely hope you learn plenty here and recognize the resources we can bring to bear.
To carry on the ability to eat, and other signs many would like to see as proof of human life, I can give you an example. As I have noted elsewhere, we could only dream our son of 26 years had the responsiveness of Terri. His eyes could not track as well, and he could not respond as well. He could lock eyes just for a heartbeat, and would burst into a smile and that was that.
Yet, we were able to feed him by mouth. It is very hard work and takes patience, not highly qualified medical opinion, to feed a person in that condition. He did not know how to chew, could swallow reflexively, a motor function common to even the severely retarded. But we took our time and did what the medical technicians said was impossible. So far as aspiration is concerned, we at times offered gelatin, Jello, to keep him hydrated. We did it for 26 years and he thrived, did not develop, but lived a happy life.
Look back at the truths about Terri and you will see she was on the road to a fair recovery way back then, when Mikey started his own version of Exit Protocol. To make observations such as you made, I suggest they be backed by something more close to real experience for them to be credible. Echoed opinions of biased medical personnel are not necessarily valid to those of us who know better.
Palpable fear? Where did you read that? Please give me the sources. I've read a lot of the links and didn't see anything of that sort.
On the contrary -- pls. reread 8mmmauser's eyewitness post #875 above -- at the vigil for Terri, the disabled were most courageous and vigorous defenders of Terri's right to live. It wasn't fear they expressed, it was moral outrage at the abuse of an innocent, helpless disabled woman, and prayer for her deliverance.

What one sees again and again -- what the disabled very vocally worry about -- is the growing social and legal acceptance of killing them just because they are handicapped. "For those of us in the organized disability rights movement, it looks like Schiavo is being put to death for the crime of being disabled." (Link, #859)
This has nothing to do with mistrusting your loved ones. Rather, the disabled are, with good reason, suspicious of lawyers, bureaucrats, politicians and a corrupt hospice industry. And who wouldn't be?
As you say, Murder is the word, State sponsored murder. Premeditated murder. AKA bioethicking. Soft and fuzzy words mask the brutality and the cruelty against an innocent, nobody would dream of visiting on a vicious animal or serial killer.

Thanks SO much for your response, T'wit. I DO see Terri as fully alive and responsive, and that video was all it took to convince me! But, that wasn't the only thing upon which I based my opinion; like all you Freepers, I did an awful lot of reading myself. That's why I'm just flabbergasted that there are so many people out there who thought this was just a "private matter between "husband" and wife, or that "they should just let her die". I was horrified there was such a conspiracy to get her killed. Like I said, it still sickens me, and I can NEVER let it go.
It is flatly illegal in Pinellas County to kill any animal by depriving it of water or food.
I suppose Judge Greer rationalized his defiance of this law by declaring Terri Schiavo to be a "vegetable." The judge himself is solid "mineral" -- granite, I think -- from ear to ear.
So did everyone who got close to her. The friendlier they were, the more responsive she was. When she was first hospitalized, she got speech and other therapy and could say a few words. She could walk with support from parallel bars. That was before Michael got the lawsuit money and cut off all her therapy and rehabilitation. After that, for the last 12 or 13 years of her life, she was a prisoner. For the last five years, she was never once permitted to see the sun or go outside and feel its warmth on her cheek.

Do you mean Vere? It could be pro-Michael people suggesting such a thing, and the teachings of the church can be easily checked out.

I love that video! You can see the special relationship between father and daughter. Bob is said to have always been able to cheer Terri up, and make her laugh. He sure did that in this video. She's not laughing mindlessly. She laughs only at the appropriate times. When he asks her if she remembers how her eye used to "roll in," she says "yeah," and she laughs. Then he talks about how it used to upset her Mom, and Terri makes an unpleasant sound, as though she feels bad about that part of it, and at the same time still laughing. What a character!
This nation is on the wrong track and letting money lusting death cultists kill Terri was a huge red flag.

Jeb Bush will not do anything about the corruption and his staff is instructed to say "The voters picked Greer. He respects that."
He can't ever be president. He's already got too many handlers tellin' him what to do. And, they are wrong. He didn't have handlers at first but he certainly does now.
Does that mean he was legally elected to office? I don't think so.
