Thanks SO much for your response, T'wit. I DO see Terri as fully alive and responsive, and that video was all it took to convince me! But, that wasn't the only thing upon which I based my opinion; like all you Freepers, I did an awful lot of reading myself. That's why I'm just flabbergasted that there are so many people out there who thought this was just a "private matter between "husband" and wife, or that "they should just let her die". I was horrified there was such a conspiracy to get her killed. Like I said, it still sickens me, and I can NEVER let it go.
So did everyone who got close to her. The friendlier they were, the more responsive she was. When she was first hospitalized, she got speech and other therapy and could say a few words. She could walk with support from parallel bars. That was before Michael got the lawsuit money and cut off all her therapy and rehabilitation. After that, for the last 12 or 13 years of her life, she was a prisoner. For the last five years, she was never once permitted to see the sun or go outside and feel its warmth on her cheek.
