DENMARK NEEDS SUPPORT
2/1/2006 | american saviour

Posted on 02/01/2006 1:40:25 AM PST by crossroads

diplomatic and trade row is raging after two Nordic newspapers published cartoons of the prophet Muhammad that were deemed insulting by many Muslims, especially in the Middle East. In Britain, meanwhile, parliamentarians are debating whether to extend laws against incitement to religious hatred. Western democracies are again struggling to reconcile the right to free expression with respect for religious belief

How come mass murder for religious purposes is never considered a hate crime by these leftist fools? I can insult a Muslim by telling the truth about Islam and end up in prison, but a Muslim can slaughter people because they are not Muslims and he is a hero?!

I think that the hate crime police are obviously Muslims.

"In Britain, meanwhile, parliamentarians are debating whether to extend laws against incitement to religious hatred.."

Well to update this - the Bill failed to become law by one vote - guess who didn't turn up for th vote - Tony Blair who's baby it was.

The Act now demands that the incitement to religious hatred must be proved to be intentional. A good day for Free Speech! Kind regards

Danish Bacon is a big seller - but not in Middle East I guess.

Lurpak butter salted and unsalted is wonderful.

OK, what's a Danish product? I mean, I can buy breakfast pastries, but methinks that doesn't actually flow through to Copenhagen...

"The Labour Chief Whip is in for one helluva beating"...

Oh yes - he called that one wrong!
I thought it was the funnies thing I'd heard since Oaten resigned.

But sense has prevailed, a knee jerk law to protect the Muslims after 9/11 was not a good idea.

Fosters export is good - but methinks with this daft Danish boycott by outraged Muslims it will have to be Carling Black Label for a few weeks.

Kindest regards,

Who would have thought:

France enters Muslim cartoon row

The cartoons have already sparked protest across the Arab world
A French newspaper has reproduced a set of caricatures depicting the Prophet Muhammad that have caused outrage in the Muslim world.
France Soir said it had published the cartoons to show that "religious dogma" had no place in a secular society.

Their original publication in a Danish paper last September has led to boycotts and protests against Denmark in several Arab nations.

Islamic tradition bans depictions of the Prophet Muhammad or Allah.

Under the headline "Yes, we have the right to caricature God", the paper ran a front page cartoon of Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim and Christian gods floating on a cloud.

It shows the Christian deity saying: "Don't complain, Muhammad, we've all been caricatured here."

The full set of Danish drawings, some of which depict the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist, were printed on the inside pages.

I think you have your Carlings and Carlsbergs mixed (easily done!) up but yes I shall drink Carlsberg with gusto down the local. Actually I already do (Fosters Ex being the can of choice), so it’s not much of a statement. I’ll make sure to have a few bacon butties at the weekend as well!

Denmark is also home of Bang & Olufen, makers of stratospherically expensive high-end audio components and really cool stuff.

If you want to spend some big bucks, they guys from Struer can help you out with that...
