Following up .. prayers for all .. they mentioned Unison Industries.
--hogwash--probably as dangerous as your smoke alarm---
X-ray sources for non-destructive testing (NDT)?
xray equipment
So we're not doomed?
Gotcha. I re-read the article. Seems I'm a bit suspicious in this day and age.
EVERYONE CALM DOWN!
IN a few hours this will end up being much ado about nothing - the rad source probably being used in some radiography of aviation parts or technology. Nothing to get excited about. Really!
What? My brother and sil work in Jacksonville. More details as you get them.
Nothing on the Cable channels at this moment.
"Why would a company specializing in "aviation ignition technology" have radioactive components on-site?"
Non-destructive testing. Why do your have radioactive components in your house?
Sounds like just an accident.
permanent magnet generators (PMG) for industrial applications and ignition generators for Tomahawk cruise missiles.
From their website.
The do DOD work.
LOL!!
:). Seriously, I don't understand why this particular industry would have a radiation leak.
Something to watch, but sounds confusing as of this moment.
Maybe it's some extremely mild radioactive chemical they put into luminous instrument dials?
"not sure were radioactive material would come into play" - I presume that you're an expert in what they are producing, perhaps an engineer who can speak with some authority. /sarcasm.
Is it safe to come out of the shower?
"Would they x-ray equipment for examining welds or something?"
Probably.
I remember touring an Air National Guard base about 20 years ago, and they performed radiography on aviation parts to make sure that they were within spec.
EVERYONE CALM DOWN. Geez - you would think that radiation was not something that we live with EVERYDAY!
Thank you. So, if it's beta rays, then my pulse rate can calm, somewhat.
Well, no problem.... as long as you're not actually in CHARGE of any response. ;-D
I was asking a valid question, though it could seem like a panicky one.
We've all done it at one time or another....
