Why is he always somewhere other in the Senate doing what the people are paying him to do??? I so fear for our country should he be elected in the future.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. John Kerry has decided to support a filibuster to block the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, CNN's Congressional Correspondent Ed Henry reported Thursday.

Kerry, in Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum, was marshaling support in phone calls during the day, Henry said.

He announced his decision Wednesday to a group of Democratic senators, urging they join him, Henry said. Kerry also has the support of his fellow Massachusetts senator, Democrat Edward Kennedy.

Some senior Democrats said they are worried that the move could backfire.

Republicans need 60 votes to overturn a filibuster.

Senior White House officials said the move makes the Democrats look bad, and Republicans already have enough votes to overcome any filibuster attempt.

I used to be a big fan of Craig...but, I have seen him go against the majority of GOP on illegal immigration...and the Patriot Act...

so...not so much anymore.

Alexander (R-TN) up ... said the leader is due on the floor and he'll suspend his comments when he arrives. What's that about?

His Wife is NaN?

Is Nane Annan really her name, you couldn't make that up.....

And what happened to Brad, that doesn't even LOOK like him.

And is Angelina really "High Commissar"? (Oh, that High Commissioner -- she just thought it meant she'd get High a lot). OK, I know she's just the good will ambassader, but it is too funny. She does bring good will though...

I think she gets it, I think Pitt is starting to understand because of his travels with her and I respect Bono for walking the walk.. to the point that his band was ready to dump him...

Bono is also deeply religious, something I wasn't aware of until recently. He also refuses to get into the middle of politics and said he once got drug into something that made it look like he was for Clinton over Bush and regrets that because he isn't for one side over the other side, rather for what he deeply believes in and that is helping people afflicted with AIDS.

He said when he met with the President (Bush) that he told him to put together something that would work without putting millions into the hands of more dictators and crooks and when he had a plan in place and people to help in addition to the USA that he would make certain that our government stepped up to the plate, too. Bono came away with respect for our esteemed leader.

So, it looks like the GOP may win the Senate seat from NJ in the fall. That would be a good thing with Corzine as governor of that state.

Yes, if Reid comes to Frist with a UC request, Kerry won't be here to object to it -- so he'll be for the filibuster before he wasn't here to invoke it.

But I bet he gets credit for the thought over at DU, democrats are big on giving credit for good intentions.

Since Huff-n-puff has jettisoned support for Hillary and is now shilling for either Gore or Kerry in '08 this could be intersting to watch from the sidelines... I think the GOP is going to be more straightforward.

He's been making a movie in Canada about Jessie James and has sideburns and dark hair as a result.
