Debate continues in the Senate today on the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. At present no time has been announced for a final vote. Stop by and discuss.
You called it right!
So much BS. NARAL, NOW, MOVEOn.org, etc is pulling his strings and it is a sad day for America.
Pitiful Joe.
Even Lieberman has succumbed to leftist pressure...
"We'll protect you better. If you are a terrorist living in the U.S. trying to get your orders, we'll make sure nobody is listening. If you are an illegal alien trying to get into our country, we'll make sure there's no fence, no militia, and you have good maps showing where the water and food is. If you are an illegal already IN the country, we will provide health care, education, workers compensation, and all the other things you risked your life to be here for. If you are a teacher, we'll protect your jobs even if you can't educate students. If you are a looter, we'll make sure you don't get punished. If you are a lying cheating politician, just join us and we'll make sure you don't have an ethics hearing."
Thank you! That makes more sense than anything else. The DUmmies are calling Kerry's offices and getting encouragement, but what you're describing really sounds like typical Kerry.
I would be very surprised if that was the case.
yup ,... poor Looserman ," could'ah been ah contenduh"
Lieberman's captured and returned to the DEM plantation.
Doubtful he's going to vote Yes but he is up for re-election very soon.
Don't be surprised...
Domestically, he's solid left ever since he was the VP nominee.
Yep.
Always had a lot of respect for Lieberman, at least until now.
Looks like he is just going along with the Dim party line.
Afraid or dosent want to make an independent decision.
There is a reason that Lieberman and Gore are both "Has Beens that Never Happened"
You are seeing it now.
Joe is a perfect example of just how drastically this approval process has changed. The goal posts have been moved very far when the main voting criteria is "philosophy".
In the future, any President that does not have the majority in the Senate will really have to bend against his/her will to accomodate the other sides wishes.
The Dims are going to find their setting of a new precedent to come back and bite them.
Is Frank Lautenberg a definite no? I know he presented Alito to the committee. Not that that means anything...Evan Bayh presented Roberts and still voted no.
yup popdonnelly , and a bookmk ping on 360 ,...
... very good short list for one of my sidewalk encounters , thanks
It would have been nice to get his "yea" vote but he still has to run and win in CT and he needs money to do that.
His one "nay" isn't a big deal. Good thing is that he would never allow a fillibuster.
I like Joe, he's still a friend on other issues.
It always does.
