Sessions is a great speaker. I agree with him about 85% of the time - and he is really nailing the DEMs for politicizing this nomination.
And he's right, the depressed AYE vote for this nominee is a bad reflection on the DEM party. I doubt they see it, and if they did see it, I doubt they'd care.

Jeff just mentioned one of many reasons why Thune is in the Senate and why Dashole got beat :0)

I checked out DU a little while ago.
They are thrilled with the idea of a filibuster, even one originating from Davos...
Poor babies.

Doesn't surprise me. I've noticed that most of their threads don't get much attention, mainly because everyone there with an opinion posts their own thread. If a DUmmy ever posted a coherent statement, no one would notice.

Sessions is basically making fun of them. The young lady sitting behind him is having a fine time.

I'm glad Sessions is laying out a more full description of why Miers withdrew or was withdrawn.
Experience as a lawyer practicing Con Law was "short"
No experience as a judge [not a big deal, but ...]
Would expose the executive office to demands for documents relating to all sorts of executive actions.
I don't know if he carried it further, but that "was the President's lawyer" would also have been used against her (in a political sense) for cases that came to SCOTUS that involved action of the executive.

Hi folks!
I'm late to the party. What does the tally on the left side of the Cspan 2 screen indicate?
Thanks

I see that! Those interns or staff for the Senators are supposed to try and keep any smiles or any kind of emotion out of the debate. But it looks like she's having a tough time of it cause Sessions is quite entertaining! LOL
