It appears to me to be a power struggle among the branches of government. Evidently the Senate wants to have ultimate authority and be above the president. Their method of achieving this via using the SCOTUS is threatened by Alito.

So kennedy just now says that he learned in high school that there were two branches of government "house and senate" and that they pass a law and the president signs it.

Where to start with that statment?????

The libs castigated Alito for merely quoting people and not giving his own opinion.

Now Kennedy takes a quote from Alito, a quote that is merely a definition and that doesn't give Alito's own opinion, and says Alito thinks that way.
