If JimRob, etc. approve this is the Live Thread for the Canadian General Election, on January 23rd, 2005.
We have a while to go before the returns start coming in, but I thought the thread needed to get up and running.
I think C-SPAN is covering it; if not go online to cfrb.com (live audio feed), canoe.ca or nationalpost.com.

Ironically, we're all praying for an all BLUE Canada.
Red here has always been associated with Communism &
Liberalism.
Thanks for the info. I'm trying yo recall ... are you in the Maritimes Heartofsong83?
Results usually come out within 30-45 minutes of the polls closing. The polls close at 7:30pm EST in the Maritimes, 9:30pm EST in Central Canada and the Prairies and 10pm EST on the Left Coast.
Not SOP here because it's illegal to publish poll results on election day.
I live in Maine and get CBC so I will be watching the returns. Good luck my Canadian friends, go get them libs!

No, I'm in Ontario.
I'm cautiously optimistic, yet still nervous. A more reasonable and centrist government in Canada would be good for everyone all around. Here's hoping for really high turnout in Alberta and the other outer provinces.
Actually, polls are open in all of Canada. They opened at the same time from Quebec to Alberta and 30 minutes later in British Columbia.

I'm half Newfie (and half PolishAmer) and can't wait to watch the confused faces report this on CNN.
Actually it's the other way around here- Liberal red, Tory Blue.
Which is a good thing IMO. Screw exit polls for making decisions. Only real vote counts should matter.

GOD BLESS CANADA AND AMERICA!!!!
Yeah I know, I was trying to make it in a US-sense. Orange in Canada is NDP (think Ralph Nader). Teal is Bloc Quebecois (Quebec nationalist party).
