LOL - yes, incredible. It is hysterical to see Martin begging people that he likely wouldn't have given the time of day before, for cooperation with him to keep him in power.
Although I haven't seen it myself, I've heard others say that Martin has not been campaigning like a man who knows he's winning.

I think that the Liberal Canadian party fosters and promotes anti-Americanism, because they need something to unite voters and citizens in Canada.
They are not much different than our Liberals, They want to rally voters against something, because they have no ideas or policy's that anyone would vote for!
They have become a party of hate, thats all they have, just like our Demonrats.

Absolutely, Snowyman. We in the US have to keep the door open to our like-minded Canadian brethren when we go after the likes of Chretien and Martin. Anyone would get his back up if his country is being attacked indiscriminately. Those of us on the right side of the spectrum are pulling in the same direction. Our common enemy is the left, wherever it is located.

I just got in from voting. Here's my report:
My district is horribly liberal-we're even fielding Greens and Marxist-Leninists. But lining up at 4 pm, I noticed about 30% of the people were just ordinary folks who had never voted before and were registering for the first time. You can be sure they didn't come to prop up the Libranos. Nobody cares about these corrupt secular humanists anymore. People here are frightened at the changes in society over the past 5-10 years and have had enough of the apathy. They finally believe they can win. Very encouraging-I predict a majority Conservative govt. I've got 50 bucks on it.

John Manley and Brain Tobin must be drooling uncontrollably tonight. Sheila Copps will also be indulging her appetite for Schadenfreude tonight, though for a completely different set of reasons than most of us.
First thing tomorrow morning, Paul Martin and his inner circle will be rounded up, herded into cattle trains, and dumped into the most remote abandoned pit mine the Liberal Party can find.

Obviously I don't like infringements upon the Freedom of Speech, but I also dislike the media trying to affect election results by telling those who still have the chance to vote that "the election is over."
Will they finish counting the votes in the Atlantic Provinces before those in BC finish voting? If not, then I guess that what can't be released nationally is a partial vote count in eastern provinces.
I assume that local news media in the Atlantic Provinces (those that can't be accessed in the rest of Canada) may publish partial voting results as soon as they are available. Couldn't this be easily leaked down to the U.S., where it could be published on websites (such as FR) that can be seen throughout Canada? Canadian laws don't apply to American websites, so if we post those results on FR we aren't even in technical violation of what would be an unconstitutional law if it applied to the U.S.

If canoe.ca is reporting exit polls it ought not to be doing so. There is a blackout until the polls close and a national blackout until all polls across Canada close.
BTW canoe.ca is the web site for Sun Media, a conservative oriented newspaper chain with the Toronto Sun as flagship.
The Ontario polls close at 2130 EST. The BC polls close at 2030 PST
Ontario is the one to watch.
Poll results start coming in slowly as each riding's polling stations report and start accelerating as the mass of polling stations start to report.
Ballots are counted at the polling stations and then sealed back into the boxes and sent to the riding returning officer.
The candidates are entitled to have scrutineers observing throughout the polling day and during the counting process.

One thing I don't understand is the true hatred some of the Canadians have for Bush and the US because we are such a similar people it seems to me.
Leftists throughout the western world hate Bush because Bush symbolizes conservatism.

Letting the Quebecois go it alone would be terrible for the Maritimes. They're already the country's red-headed step-children, and being completely isolated geographically would make things worse. They're poor provinces that are very sparsely populated, and they would suffer.
There's also the fact that NB (in particular) has a French population. They don't want Quebec to go it alone because then there'd be only a handful of francophones in the entire dominion.

anti-American if Hillary Clinton were to win in 2008??

It's because the only way the Liberals can create the illusion of actually having a foreign policy it to pick a major super-power, steal their foreign policy handbook, and do the exact opposite, lest they be accused of plagarism.
