If JimRob, etc. approve this is the Live Thread for the Canadian General Election, on January 23rd, 2005.
We have a while to go before the returns start coming in, but I thought the thread needed to get up and running.
Al Gore?
Sounds like a Democrat. You may have big problems up there!
What about a Grand Coalition for Canada! a la Germany. Has anyone suggested that yet?
CBC is doing damage control to say the vote was to "punish the liberals"
They are trying to undermine the legitimacy of the results by saying this is just temporary to punich the left. Thus implying just wait until the next election.
Why couldn't c-span get something other than canadian left wing propaganda?
there WILL be a leadership review. In fact as Preston Manning said earlier there are at least 3 former Liberal Cabinet Members from Chretien years that are drooling at the moment. Martin has a bullseye painted on his back. If he's smart, he'll resign.
Are Preston Manning and Stockwell Day still involved in the CPC in some way?
Where did Stronach's money come from ?
Not quite. The GG is only the head of state. One of the parties, usually the one with most of the seats will go to the GG to ask to form the government. However, there have been times in Canada where the Grits who had less than the Tories in seats formed a government with a coalition. You have to go back to 1925 federally.
Thanks for the link. I'm dumping the CBC. Who watches that crap?
there are many, but the deal is that canada keeps the hydro plants of niagra falls.
She's a miracle of modern makeup.
Daddy. :)
Pic please....
Canada has had some nasty post election intrigues in past.
Dief the theif....etc.
Wrestling Pay per view may not be the only cage match on the Tube up North : )
Preston Manning is. He was Harper's mentor and is at the Conservative victory party ... I believe. They just showed him on CPAC.
Yes and the way it went tonight I think the Toronto area too.
That's not any ordinary idiot, she used to be in Courtney Love's band Hole.
