That would set off WW3 in the Mideast if Israel did it. Better now than later.

Evening DCPatriot,
It is a fairly simple solution, nukem and the problem is eradicated.

"If you want to get technical, there's been a slow-motion WWIII in the Mideast for over 50 years, and Israel is holding it's own against some pretty bad odds."
Israel has defended its self in the past and gotten away with it, I agree.
Things have changed in the past 15-20 years and we wont leave Israel swinging in the wind to defend its self against the rest of the Mideast.

I see. What is incorrect in what I said? Have Christians not been talking about the end times for 2000 years? I believe they have. Predictions of the date of the return of Jesus crop up every few decades, and always have. My atheism has nothing to do with history.
I think what the poster was alluding to is the difference between past conflicts and the conflicts of today, which is the advent and spread of nuclear and biological weapons around the globe. We have the ability today to do what our ancestors throughout human history could not do - render large parts of the planet uninhabitable.
While the Iranian situation most likely is not 'the beginning of the end', thanks to the spread of these super-weapons into the hands of dangerous lunatics like the mullahs of Iran, I do believe it brings the possibility of it much closer.

You think we can tell Israel what to do or not to do. Maybe in somethings but attacking Iran won't be one of them if events get too critical or dangerous for Israel. I predict all the diplomatic efforts will fail so it's U.S. or Israel, choose your poison, Iran.

Actually my point is that they would allow the wolf to kill their own child so that the wolfs pups would have food to eat. In the wild if you kill the mother you also killed her young, that point was made very eloquently in "March of the Penguins" when a leopard seal killed a mother penguin while she was feeding. It meant that also her chick would die.
Israel should value her own young rather than the young of Iran, if Iranian children are at risk it is due to their own government.

So true, Diva. And Ahmadinejad isn't doing anything we don't already know he's capable of doing. Perhaps the Iran Hostages will be vindicated after being told their claims had no merit.

1. WW3 isnt too far off to begin with
2.I dont think anyone would stand with Iran; who would...Iraq certainly wouldnt threaten war. Syria might have some harsh words, noone except maybe Hizbollah would take action against Israel.

My first thought as well.

This post is in the context of what Israel might do, not the US. Israel would have no choice but to use nukes to disarm Iran.

Save millions of US children.
Let the mullahs young guards die young in Iran, than older in the US as they try to kill our grand children.

I'm not sure, but you may have misunderstood my post. "May have", because I don't know what you mean by having "gotten away with" defending itself. They've a state of the art military and know how to use it and it is their right, as a sovereign state, to protect their citizens.

That's exactly right. Iran continues to isolate itself from the entire world. Their only friends are members of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah or the Democratic Party.

I believe the range is too far for the Israelis to bomb without refueling in air or on the ground somewhere. I doubt that would stop them though. Pity for the children. No mercy for the adults.

"He clearly stated that if action became necessary, it would be US, not Israel that would be taking action."
Here's a bit of news for you: Israel does not take orders from the USA regarding its military actions. They have their own military, and it is independent as the dickens. If Israel decides to destroy the Iranian nuclear facility, it will do so, and won't ask the US's permission.
You seem to believe that Israel is a state in the United States of America. It most certainly is not.
