Delusional I think.

James Taranto of Best of the Web Today on OpinionJournal.com posted his comments on an article by a desperate Dem who made the point that conservatives are better judicial candidates as they have more need to hone their arguments -- in academia and in law they are less apt to find people who think as they do. In contrast, liberals can live their whole lives without encountering a conservative.

Taranto makes the argument that as conservatives are more aware of their environment, conservatives are smarter. LOL!

Remember how snippy Kerry got when someone reported that a calculation was done to project IQs (which likely has a high error rate) and Bush's IQ came out higher than Kerry's? Kerry was furious.

Then when the grades came out, even Kerry's professor was "puzzled" as he thought that the (shiftless relative of the Forbes empire who became a gigolo before he became) Senator was a better student than a C. LOL!

Does Specter as Chairman have the authority to deny another week's delay?

This is a huge victory for the dims and the losers are going to go out and celebrate, while a good man waits his fate.

Nah - a one week delay is insignificant in comparison with seating Judge Alito on SCOTUS against their wishes. I do agree thatteh delay will be used to smear and fling crap. And I do expect the GOP to continue their vigorous defense, as they did during the hearings. I know that the media won't pick up the sound bites, but the GOP needs to create them, and have a PR campaign that counters the lies and intellectual poverty in the DEM opposition.

My thoughts exactly. That's why I urge Frist and the Senate Republicans to exercise efficiency. We already know that President Bush is steamed about the expiration of the Patriot Act.

Hear is where the left-wing groups do their best to build enough support that the democrats feel comfortable running a filibuster.

Oh, they can't show their ad, because they have to change it.

I'd love to get a leaked copy of that ad, to see what they had to pull out of it or add to it.

Yes, we know what the Dems will do. They've been doing it for months to the successful tune of 2/3rd's of the people now support Alito.

Yes, it's better to have the vote soon then later.

No, that isn't a victory for Dems. No, the Dem attacks ads don't frighten me a bit.

Or Arlen will cave. It's totally up to him. He's the Chairman. Is he going to act like it?

I continued listening to Arlen. He did not sound like he was going to waffle on this.

In the meantime, I am strongly hoping GWB gets at least one more pick, because I have no faith that any of the current crop of leading presidential wannabes will nominate reliable conservatives.

Amen to that!

I agree. I think he was really angry about Senator Kennedy's grandstanding and really hurt that Kennedy never said anything directly to him.

This is a particularly repellant group of people on C-SPAN now. Marti Rosenberg (speaking now) looks like she borrowed Senator Levin's glasses.

They're not "leaders," they're followers.

Actually, describing them as sheep wouldn't be too inaccurate, in my opinion.

Ed Gordon-the host of News & Notes-empaneled a discussion last week that focused on the shortcomings of the current civil rights leadership, and how it is standing in the way of innovative, bold initiatives coming from a younger, less intellectually stultified generation.
