me, too :)
Not only have I not gotten any work done in 3 whole days at work, because you kind Freepers have been keeping me posted on the hearings, but I am learning a lot re: toothbrushes and plastic bags! You people are a riot! And very addictive! Thanks! You are my sanity daily.
The intellectually dishonest moonbats haven't had a chance yet - but I do note the moon is FULL tonight, so they will be quite entertaining come their turn.
They'll get their turn too.
Can you imagine if he put his peanuts in his coke like we in the South used to do? He would be ridden out as a right wing redneck. He wouldn't have a chance. Maybe, Coffee and peanuts is a high brow thing to do. I wouldn't know.
>Someone said on this thread sometime back..."if someone found a way to identify a homosexual gene in an unborn baby...abortions would stop"...LOL
I don't know about that but it would definitely be made illegal to abort for that reason, or perhaps they would make it illegal to test for the gene.
Specter just finishing. Close enough.
His grandpa 'Honey Fritz' was fatter than fat teddy and he lived 87yrs.
Isn't this unusual, that they asked to testify?
Judges that worked with Sam.....Lewis is a very, self confessed lib and he loves Alito!
HA!
Prediction:
The testimonies mean nothing. The Dims will blow them off as "show". Right now, they are trying to regroup to figure out how they can position a fillibuster so as to get the maximim political value out of it.
We will see a lot of TV ads and letters to the editors of local newspapers over the MLK holiday weekend talking about CAP and 10 YO strip searches..
No dim senate staffer on the hill goes home this weekend.
Specter is the only one questioning them.
I don't know if there's a Dem Senator in the room. I see many empty chairs on the other side.
Depending on whether one counts the ABA as a panel. The ABA group of 3 went first. These 6 (in the room) and 1 (teleconferene) are current and past justices of the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals. They are Samual Alito's current and past peers, and in some cases mentors.
have they been on since 2:30?????
I think so
Here's the link to Scotusblog that will give you the prettied up version, but the Dems got spanked
http://www.scotusblog.com/movabletype/
well, of course, they don't want to hear anything good.
I'm soooooo confuuuuuused.
That's putting it mildly. It is unheard of, and not uncontroversial. In this case I think it is entirely appropriate and fair.
They have been on since about 3:00, I think (I was out and came in on them speaking) but Specter has only been questioning them for the last 10-15 min.
