NPR was talking about Alito as the hearings were about to start, and they gloomed and doomed that he'd be on the court because, among other things, he's a little rumpled looking, that New Jersey accent and background, immigrant, hardworking parents, the father got a $50 scholarship and was able to attend college, easier for the general public to identify with him than say, with Roberts. NPR had already run up the white flag before the hearings started.

Wife of U.S. Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, Martha-Ann Bomgardner, is pictured in this combination picture reacting to comments by U.S. senators on the fourth day of public testimony in Alito's Senate confirmation hearings on Capitol Hill in Washington January 12, 2006. Alito completed his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday after frustrated Democrats took a final crack at getting more definitive answers from the 55-year-old conservative. "Judge Napolitano and others who were supposedly members of CAP should be called in as witnesses for Judge Alito." Once Alito is confirmed Judge Nap is next to the USSJudge Napolitano was on Fox a bit ago and made (roughly) the following points: CAP was formed to do two things: Return the ROTC to campus and keep Princeton from lowering their admission standards. He said that Alito was a classmate of his, and that he wasn't much involved. He then named two or three prominent women who were members of CAP and named "a person of color" who was the editor of their magazine. He pretty well shot the Dem's whole argument to shreds.

(Hearing something on the network news is reason enough to disbelieve it.)
Will members of the National Bar Association be appearing as witnesses?
Schumer asked yesterday why Alito didn't write down, on his 1985 application, that he belonged to the NBA.

Fatso Kennedy has never paid a dime to the IRS in his entire life. His father set up the family trust way back when to avoid all taxes. So when Teddy says he doesn't know what stocks he has, etc., and how much he's paid in taxes, (his money's in a blind trust), he's a LIAR. Next time he votes to raise our taxes, remember he doesn't pay one red cent.
