Hatch asking since Alito didn't participate in the management of the fund (Vanguard), he didn't need to recuse himself.

Ted actually said that he had a financial interst in Vanguard and has made money because of his decision?
I don't get it.

"Buhler, anyone? Anyone?"
During the Reagan years, he developed an economic plan that was called, anyone? anyone? "trickle-down economics". Critics of this plan called it "anyone? anyone?" "Voo...? anyone? Voodoo economics."

2:59 P.M., and various panels are testifying. Fatso Kennedy brought up the Vanguard matter again, smearing Alito.

Orrin is doing a good job, rebutting Kennedy's statement that if Alito would have admitted the mistake up front. . . Hatch - "He did admit the mistake up front."

ABA interviewed over 2,000 people. The final report weighed 11 lbs.
The Senators couldn't survive such scrutiny.

Is a recusal such as Feingold proposed common?? I don't recall anything like that at say, Darth Vader Ginsberg's hearings. This will be the first time sitting judges have testified, so it is a novel issue.

It's just so much fun to mock the stupidity of the Dem questions.

Totally off topic, but I just saw some snippet of one of those cable entertainment shows, they were interviewing Ben Stein about Ferris Buehler, quizzing him about the movie, he of course got all the questions right, and also ran through that entire monologue about the smoot-hartley act. It was still funny. I love that guy.

Kennedy's police blotter alone weighs over 10 lbs.

I'm puzzled and troubled and a little perplexed by the statements and will need to review carefully the evidence of ABSOLUTLY NOTHING to prove anything that will justify my already predetermined vote against this horrible racist, sexist homophobic, antisemite, antidentite...
