Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

Thanks
No unequivocal expression either way. He seems quite supportive in demeanor, and was satisfied with the stare decisis exchanges.
Compared to the Dems on that committee, Elmer Fudd is more of an expert on Constitutional law.
I told you their so called dim callers are planted! They have the cspan agenda and anyone that thinks otherwise, just is not familar with cspan.
LOL! A Dem apology is that I am sorry that you make me so mad!
LOL! Seriously, my liberal aunt said this to my conservative mother. Liberal aunt rants and Mom laughs it off.
I want someone to leak the damn Barrett Report so that it will be clear to everyone which party is ABSOLUTELY corrupt in Washington D.C.
Looks to be a cross-eyed Liberal judicial scholar, perpetually trapped in the 1970's.
HAHAHA.. good one.
This is a brief executive session to determine if they have any further questions for the nominee. After that, lunch. After lunch, on to the panels, i.e., Alito is probably done testifying.
With a whimper the questioning of Alito ended.
CNN's Jeff Greenfield says the steam left the hearings because the senators don't know how to answer questions. Oh they know how to give speeches, but not ask questions.
Jeff Toobin finally managed to give credit to Alito, to his wealth of knowledge.
Blitzer, Greenfield and Toobin seem oh so deflated as the session ended.
I watched the session on C-Span, did the cable news channels even cover the hearing this morning?
You made an excellent segue - if the Dems are against illegal spying, release the full Barrett report, including the 120 pages that would make the Beast furious.
Maybe, he wants to go to a home for troubled senators.
I agree....and I think their insistence on hearings about the NSA wiretapps will also blow up in their faces...
which I think is why President Bush has said he now WANTS those hearings...as well as, I assume, the Justice Dept. investigation into WHO leaked.
But this is what Leahy said in the past:
on opening day in the Senate. Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt)....said the whole independent counsel system has "been corrupted and no longer serves its intended purpose."
Excuse me... is the caller reading?
Wonder if the plan could have always been that Miers would pull herself out...rope-a-dope...wasn't it around the same time when fitz announced his indictment?
I hate it when callers read their questions
*groan*
I love how these networks manage to field such a diverse array of opinions when it comes to discussing these weighty issues.
They are constantly on fishing expeditions, just hoping they will get the catch of the day. Not gonna happen. It's pathetic really.
