Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

Was Alito implying that Congress can restrict the President's inherent constitutional authority? No. Only that SCOTUS has been known to be involved in a case that judged the extent of inherent authority - not just as to the President either, also as to Congress. "Steel Siezure," Milligan, Merryman and a small handful of others are in the mix.

Frustrated senators Leahy and Kennedy
"U.S. Senate Judiciary Chairman Arlen Specter said on Thursday an overnight search of records found no mention of Alito in a controversial Ivy League alumni group."

I have a question, America. Are several of these Senators the best we can do? How about it, California? Massachusetts? Illinois? Delaware? New York? Vermont? Wisconsin? No just the best from California? Massachusetts? Illinois? Delaware? New York? Vermont? Wisconsin? :^)

Fred's a Republican. His bio on WMAL:

He refers to himself as a "recovering Congressman".

Ted: Mr. Alito, have you ever killed anyone?
Alito: Heaven's no Senator!
Ted: What, you think you're better than me!

Thanks, It didn't make sense that he would tip his hand here.
IMHO, "Steel Seizure" is distinguishable from the NSA situation.
