Well, it does take a while to get your hair to do that flippy thing she's got going on. LOL I was thinking she must have been waiting on another case of Helmet-Hairspray to be delivered. By all rights her hair should be registered as a lethal weapon. I have my own opinion about her being late...

"This is a country that is infrastructure poor. We don't have the roadways to get people to their workplace. We don't have housing. We don't have an adequate school system. And therefore, this is the time to begin to repair America's infrastructure and bring it into the context of what will be a very sophisticated global economy."
"Instead, we're sacrificing all of this for tax cuts that are so big that it doesn't even permit a normal spending program to take place.

but I'll ask the question..anyone think that Alito gets a Dem vote here..I thik 3 voted for Roberts....Kohl, Feingold, and one other..I'm thinking it'll be a straight party line vote out of committee, and I still don't rule out a filibuster attempt on the Senate floor.
As far as Feingold goes, he got roasted alive by the far left for voting yes on Roberts in committe and on the floor, and he's one of the Dim presidential candidates who is pandering to the loons instead of trying to fool the moderates (like Hillary). There's no way he votes for Alito - the moonbats would abandon him in droves.

To Coburn on C-span this morning said that he thinks that Alito might get one or
two Dem votes in committee....When asked by the startled host WHO?..he
mentioned Feingold.saying he was a "very independent thinker.." I think that
Coburn was having fun at Feingold's expense....but I'll ask the question..anyone
think that Alito gets a Dem vote here..I thik 3 voted for Roberts....Kohl,
Feingold, and one other..
will be interesting to see how the senators from nj vote when the nomination gets to the floor...

I'm not sticking with this all day again. I MUST get some things accomplished today.
Does anybody have an idea for when the panels are scheduled to start? I didn't realize that FNC wasn't covering gavel to gavel today and missed Specter's opening statements.

Just caught up (long thread) -- what was up with Kohl and his age limit thing? Any change would require a Constitutional Amendment -- not something SCOTUS does! So talking about that with Alito was pointless. It's also stupid -- if an Amendment was actually passed ending the service of judges who are past a certain age, that would give GWB the chance to appoint replacements -- starting with JP Stevens! Where do we sign up?
To: Dr. Scarpetta
Judge Napolitano and others who were supposedly members of CAP should be called in as witnesses for Judge Alito. Funny, I was just thinking the same thing this morning as I listened to him on Laura Ingraham's show. She was the president of this organization. I think it would certainly resonate with the public.

That's probably the case.
Did you notice how often they've brought up Morrison?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these the same Democrats that allowed the Independent Counsel statute to sunset?
You know, because of the flagrant abuses of power of Judge Starr, who dared to actually investigate criminal abuses of the Clinton White House.
Are these people even aware of their inconsistencies?

Now she's going on to an environmental case. WR Grace and sounds like an ammonia spill.
Not a bad question, as between courts and administrative agencies, how much fact finding is each entitled to use.
