Durbin:
Does that red, wristband signify you're a communist? Schumer: No you silly... it means I'm a communist AND... I'm sexually-available!

Looks like to me the Dimocrats have one agenda and it runs concurrent to their overall perverted views of life in America.
For the Dimocrats this is not a hearing about the many diverse things that affect our lives.
For Dimocrats this is nothing more than an another opportunity to show how far out of the mainstream that they really are.
Most of the Dimocrat party base resides somewhere out on the fringe of life.
I am sick of the constant pounding of the candidate with nothing but abortion, Abortion, ABORTION.

They won't be satisfied until he performs an abortion, live, in the hearing room. On his daughter.

Miers would have been roasted in this forum. Instead of this fine victory we are looking at we would have had an unmitigated disaster.
Does this Senator want Alito to say RoeVWade is written in stone? Because it is not and no sitting Supreme Court Justice will say it is. What the heck is this? A witch hunt?
To: ilovew
They know he can't answer that. They're just harassing him now. I agree.

Little Dick is a moron. Asked and answered. It is protected but like Plessy it's not immune.

The democrats should just be called the Abortocrats because they have not been talking about anything of substance since this entire thing started.
Funny enough I caught some call-in time from CSPAN this morning, and more than one democrat called in to say the same.
Not that they were really pro-life, but they said it was more of a non-issue, or at least not worthy of all the time. They said they should be on privacy and corruption, etc.

Why does Turbin Durbin keep quoting Chucky Cheese Schumer?
To: ilovew
They're treating him like a prosecutor would treat a hostile witness.
Turbin is out gunned and can't rephrase the question in order to get him to say "Roe V Wade is bad law and should be reviewed"..
Here we go with the CAP questions again.
Was that a question, statement of accusation or what?? Ack! What an idiot! who elected these people?

Think about how much though we have advanced the pro-life cause.
None of the Senators are arguing with Alito that abortion is the correct decision of the court. They are reduced to arguing that the current justices shouldn't change it because it's been around so long it has it's own life.
In other words, Stare Decisis is an argument which acknowledges the weakness of the original ruling.
To: texianyankee
Not that I like Wikipedia.....but.....it will be useful for libs. The date of and confirmation vote are easy to cross check. The online Congressional Record stops at 1995, but a "uninimous consent" vote is common for advice & consent. There were a handful of them last session, for Circuit Court nominees.
LOL, Durbin is trying to tar Alito with membership in the Federalist Society.
