The first statement said "the lady in the background is Alito's wife and daughter". The JOKE was that being married to his daughter he must be from the Ozarks. It has nothing to do with fashion, it is a joke about someone being married to his daughter (which is obviously not possible). Lighten up!

you are planning to vote for Judge Alito, but you might find something in Rusher's papers that would change your mindLOL. That is very good. Kennedy respond that he wouldn't vote for Alito because he knows he is a sleaze, but he hasn't been able to prove it yet.

lol @ this:
In 1985, Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, then 35 and working in the Reagan solicitor generals office, applied for a promotion to deputy assistant attorney general. He included a statement with his application in which he pledged allegiance to right-wing legal and judicial philosophy.
asf anybody would do that

That would be darn near perfect.

So all Specter has to say to Kennedy is that Kennedy's staff must be too lazy to go over to the Library of Congress to look at the manuscripts he desires?

I was wondering if you really need a subpoena to get paper out of the Library of congress. Shouldn't any senator be able to get them?I'm sure Chuckie Schumer could in between perusing copies of illegally obtained credit reports.

My guess is that the President probably wouldn't have minded having Pat Toomey in there, as being more conservative than Specter, and if Toomey had been the incumbent, GW would have been there for him. Just my thought.Exactly. The President politically is most concerned with strengthening the Republican Party. He wasn't about to risk losing a Senate Seat in Pennsylvania to replace one Republican with another. He needed every Republican he could get to have the votes to get his nominations through. So far Arlen has done a good job as Chariman.
