ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.
Oh, I was just waiting to see which Dem brought up SCOTUS and Gore v. Bush. They've never gotten over it.
Gee, then, I guess he hasn't seen the stats about who is and isn't taking advantage of the act.
Judging from some of the things you have posted on the Tony Snow thread...I have gotten the impression that you have a very, very responsible job...and I have been impressed with your attitude...
even when problems have arisen...I would certainly never question your credibility or qualifications at all.
Now that you say that you have worked around lawyers...I can truly understand where you are coming from...I haven't worked for lawyers, but for doctors...and they are also very "precise" in their use of certain words....like "because" or "basis".
I sadly disagree with you. Every nominee from here on out will have to be a 'stealth' one.
Did Kohl just call the United States Supreme Justices "extreme activists" because of the 2000 election???
Awwww.
Well, it looks as though you were right! The mad scientist has taken off his glasses to prepare for the kill...
No. And the sad thing is that it looks like he hasn't even practiced them, just reading a paper for the first time.
And I swear I saw the Bush V. Gore article on free republic days ago.
Yeah and too bad Kohl forgot to ask if the Florida Supremes were ruling as an activist court in their decision to allow "select" Florida counties only to be recounted.
Can you switch to 455.0000? I believe we have a co-located frequency.
Not only that, but the judicial activism awas on the part of SCOFLA - it was the Florida court that was denying equal protection.
LOL - Alito hasn't studied the case
Kohl intimates that Alito is covering up, that Kohl thinks Alito has thought about "whether it was correct to take the case" and Kohl is pretty hot on demanding an answer
Alito reiterates, "My honest answer is I haven't studied it"
No matter what anyone says about Judge Alito, you can't say he isn't bright. Smart man.
If that pic was on the front page of every newspaper in the country tomorrow only the bitter leftists would not be for him.
Sorry.
Granted it's been a few years, but I thought Scotus in Bush v Gore decided that Florida could recount, but not just their hand picked counties; if they did a recount it had to be all the counties. Am I remembering that wrong?
Gee, then I wonder what Kohl thinks of Kelo?
Calling the USSC "extreme activists"???
I would say you are 100% Correct
:-) Thank you, you are being very kind.
I've been out for a while. Has anyone mentioned the Kelo case?
