AMEN!!
My sentiments exactly! As the mom of 5 children, I never ever even THOUGHT of aborting them. Everyone of them has been a joy....and now they are all taxpayers too!
They will if they can get away with it, and I am past trusting RINOs in the Senate.
Right now, they can't get away with it. A lot can change in a short period of time.
I think they'll make the news because they can be cherry-picked in a way that makes it easy to spin against the point of view that Specter expressed; or at least that there is a fight a brewin'. DEMs like shout fests.
Specer Spanks Senators, calls them "Smarmy"
workin' and lurkin' and trying to listen to Sean's show... but I'll try.
I missed the very start of the interview but basically DeLay says he will keep on fighting. There was some sort of decision today regarding his case I gathered but I didn't hear it all. durn phone
I do feel that Alito will eventually confirmed by the senate, but I see them holding up on the vote until the decision has been made on the case regarding PBA, that the SC is hearing right now.
I hear you on all of that. I just don't believe there will be any serious issues with this confirmation. I'm not concerned in the least, and I REALLY want Alito to be confirmed.
That's what I shouted when he was done (scared the chihuahuas)!!
The DEMs in the Senate won't be able to mount a delay that long. SCOTUS is in recess until sometime in February.
Ed Whelan (NRO Bench Memos) is taking Kohl's reference of aggressive charges against Alito that he's being pressured to vote against.

Also, this one was funny

lmao! Ok, ok...I can do plum. :) I never knew FR had so many fashion experts! Of course, we have experts on everything else, so why not?
Some of the R's are so weak they would go along with it.
I'm going to invite some of you to "tea" and we'll go over my wardrobe. :)
Every one can, and will think what they want in that regard. However, I don't believe that to be true. Jealousy has always been a HUGE motivator in any conflict. Coveting, if you will. Besides, the north was into slavery up to their eyeballs, a few years prior. But, it was used quite successfully as a motivator during the war. So that's like the pot calling the kettle black. It's an argument that doesn't hold water. Slavery would have fizzled out within 50 years or so because of the new states entering the union. And, yes...the South did want to sell slaves to the west. But how many buyers would have come to market? Not many. Thus, the fizzling out, which would be a natural consequence. And if it was left to fizzle out on it's own, we would not be seeing today's problems. General Robert E. Lee made a comment regarding the future troubles of the civil war outcome. I did not understand them upon reading them. But now, with all the mess we see today, it is quite clear.
In his opening comments, Chairman Specter firmly stated his expectation that, absent "something extraordinary," the committee vote on Alito will take place next Tuesday, January 17. That timing will enable a full Senate vote on confirmation on the long-planned date of January 20.
LOL January 20th, that will hurt the Dem's.
I can see that we read different books. :-)
:-) I am hopeful, but we know who has a great capacity for foot dragging.
The Ayotte case was heard on November 30. If Alito is seated before the decision is handed down, and SCOTUS is tied without his opinion, SCOTUS will probably call for a rehearing. They have the prerogative to do so, but won't unless there is a need to.
I was mistaken about SCOTUS being on recess - they are hearing cases this week and next week, then are off until Feb 21.
Welcome to Congress...
