Penn & Teller... Pro-Gun?????
Penn & Teller Bulls*#@! ^ | Penn & Teller

Posted on 01/07/2006 1:42:45 AM PST by Bender2

Up late I was surfing the channels and came upon Penn & Teller's Showtime program "Bulls*#@!" as they say...

I have never been a big fan of Penn nor Teller, but they had the Second Amendment and were discussing it.

Well, you could have slapped me to 4th Street!

Penn & Teller were for the Second Amendment! And they did one of the best jobs I've ever seen of pulling the teeth from that famous liberal chant: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state" means only the state has the right to bear arms in a militia!

The one show I saw by them was about envirowackism. I believe they circulated a petititon at a rally or protest. The petition was for the elimination of a chemical called "dihydro oxygen", responsible for hundred if not thousands of deaths per year. Everybody they approached signed it, only to find out later that "dihydro oxygen" is WATER (H2O)!

The one they did with the empty water bottles at a swank resturant and the garden hose was good, too.....

That has to be one of their best episodes, and I believe it was Dihydro Monoxide that the petition was for. All the environmentalists were talking like they knew what it was, and how bad it was.

Good for him! At least he supports the 2nd Amendment on PRINCIPLE & will respect it like the Founders intended....unlike so many other political parties who SAY they believe in "smaller government" (smaller than what?) but end up increasing its size & influence over our daily lives.

How dare you spread such unpleasant truths. For shame.

Heheheh... I'm surprised that this thread hasn't been pulled by the thought police for even mentioning "libertarian."

Penn & Teller are ardent supporters of the ACLU, so no thanks.

Big time. "Bullsh*t" is a great show. They defend gun and meat-eating. And denounce, disprove and ridicule environmentalists, animal rights activists, proponents of recycling and global warming, among many others. The shows against PETA and Greenpeace alone should be required viewing for any of the young ignorant colege minds that volunteer for those repulsive groups. It quickly and fatally undermines them.

Yes he hates religion with a passion. But he also hates gun-grabbers and enviro-wackos. So 2 of 3 aint bad.

great TV...love BullS%$#

Yep, me too. Although the language is a bit coarse, they are usually spot on.

I'm about to give Showtime the heave hoe. Tired of them playing the same movies over and over, month after month. If P&T's BS! were to come back for a new season in '06 I might actually keep Showtime, though.

Teller doesn't speak during their acts

After the act it can be hard to get him to shut up...

Of course, he is one of the Great Rednecks of Our Time.

I've been wondering for a while whether Larry is a real redneck or just playing one. Having grown up in the south surrounded by rednecks and listening very closely to Larry speak, I've come to the conclusion that he's not a real redneck, but is in fact a pretty good actor. Damned entertaining, though. So are the rest of the Blue Collar tour....

He does have sort of a Hollywood Redneck accent, but he comes over like a lot of people I know.

We watch Bullsh%%^t and get a huge kick of of P&T. Last year we went to see them in Las Vegas where they have a nightly show at the Rio. The show at the Rio is a family friendly magic act and we were bored to tears because we were expecting Bullsh&*^%t. Anyway, I shook hands with the big guy Penn Gillette and he is HUGE!

Every once in a while he pronounces a word or uses a phrase that gives him away.

I believe that Larry is from somewhere in the greater Baltimore area. He was once a regular call-in guest for the Kirk, Mark and Lopez show. The station is WIYY and the show was on from ~5:00 till ~9:00 AM

Why does this suprise you? They're very big on limited government. Penn is a member of the Libertarian party, one of the few parties left that still believes in limited government

I always enjoyed them when I saw them on TV, although we do not have HBO or Showtime. When we went to Las Vegas, we went to see their show. The magic was excellent, however there was little of it. Most of the show involved Penn rambling on in a most vulgar manner. The vulgarity was totally unnecessary and a number of people in the audience walked out.
