Well, this morning my wife's bag of waters began to leak, so it looks like we'll be in labor soon! Please pray for Mrs. HH, baby, and me.

I think a lot of that yellin' and hollerin' during labor is fake, a ploy to gain sympathy. I have 4 children, 12 grand children and one brand new great grand son and I have yet to feel any pain during birth. (T.I.C.)

Sorry - only the woman is in labor.

My hubby might agree with you in principle, but having been there through the births of our four kids, he recognizes that Dads go through their own 'labor' watching their wives dealing with the pains of childbirth. He said it's the most helpless he's ever felt.

Women have been giving birth for a very long time - often without men at their side. It really isn't a big deal.

It really isn't a big deal.

Even though it happens every day, much as it's happened for eons, it's ALWAYS a big deal, because that baby represents possibility.

Men just didn't realize how much of a big deal it was until they started staying in the delivery room and watch the amount of work that goes into it, especially if it's a natural childbirth. Even if you've been to Childbirth preparation classes, you just don't know what it's like until you've been through it.
