The Trinity Broadcasting Network has suspended Hal Lindsey’s television program, “International Intelligence Briefing” for the month of December, and possibly permanently. According to Lindsey’s website, his show was suspended because, “Some at the network apparently feel that my message is too pro-Israel and too anti-Muslim.” A phone call and email to TBN have not received a response yet. If and when TBN responds, I’ll update this post.
In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that I’m not in 100% agreement with all of Hal Lindsey’s statements, and I’m also not the biggest fan of TBN. While many of their programs are quite enjoyable, I am troubled by others. I believe the opulent gold-gilded set of their “Praise the Lord” show sends the wrong message - one of worldly materialism. One person in the TBN hierarchy has made statements that I believe undermine orthodox Trinitarian doctrine. With that said, I don’t watch enough of TBN’s programming to make judgments beyond this. However, if TBN did suspend IIB for the reasons Lindsey has stated, this will be quite troubling. From what I have seen on Lindsey’s IIB show, he has done nothing more than express the truth regarding Islam and shared in God’s view of Israel. If Lindsey’s accusations are true, I have to wonder how much this decision has been influenced by a large, “mainline” denomination that has taken the disturbing step of divesting from Israel and blaming them for the fact that innocent Israelis get blown apart by Palestinian terrorists.
As more information is available on this, I’ll share it.
Generally speaking, his basic theology is sound--his sensationalism notwitstanding.
Maybe I'm sucked in by him but TD Jakes looks like he really means it. It's not an act. The Holy Spirit seems to animate him.

Yes, it is a rich blessing to be in a bible-teaching church with a strong missions focus. I am grateful for the many gifted pastors and lay ministers in our church.

It a seven-month on-line study. It is great for new believers and for those who have been in the faith a long time. Simply written but good layout of doctrine. Pass it along to whomever you like.
I did know about Adrian Rogers. I'm still listening to years and years of his available archives. What a legacy that will continue to multiply. I praise the Lord for his obedience to God's calling to preach the Word of Truth.

I hate to sound stupid but what is "contempative prayer"? What do you mean by "Christian mysticism" too?
I don't get to listen to him often. For me it's primarily been Dr. Stanley and Dr. Rogers.
If you like, answer me privately on D.J.. My parents listen to him more and I don't want them watching him if he's into this stuff.
Notice that first name on the list of people he quotes in his new book, Life Wide Open is Sue Monk Kidd. I listened to a speech she gave about the Black Madonna. (You can find it at that some website I linked you to above.) She is into this Christian feminism stuff and she says "God is more than two men and a bird." She also says that the Christ of the new millennium will include (even become) the Black Madonna. She's a real piece of work. AND HE REFERS TO HER FAVORABLY IN HIS BOOK!!!! And she's just one of many.
I do not know what happened to him, but I wouldn't trust him anymore.

By responding in merely an hours' time, to what would have taken hours and hours of study in order to comprehend its meaning, you have shown yourself to be an unserious person. TBN is more your speed. I won't permit you to waste any more of my time.
In response to a comment email I sent to TBN yesterday, I received a reply today that claimed he was only removed for the month of December for Christmas programming, and that he would be back in January. We'll see.

I think Hal is like the Debka Files of Christian media. He keeps prophesying, and sooner or later he's bound to be right. However, I find him entertaining, and I always learn a lot. I hope he can continue to get his message out.
As for TBN, as soon as I discovered EWTN they lost me for good. When I see that gilded set, or the painted porcine face of Tammy Faye Bakker, or the the Palesite snake oil salesman, the remote goes *Click*.
Angling for a job on EWTN?
They had some f@ggot designer on Fox & Friends First this morning and they asked him to critique Tiki Barber's necktie since he ties the knot big as a fist and really short, lots of white space. The guy said he was impeccably dressed and that ended the discussion of Tiki's tie, which has been going on for several weeks. So I guess it's back. I think it's because of these silly coats that button at the pecs with the second button above the navel. I see people now with the tie sticking out of the coat, and I think you probably tie it short to keep that from happening.
