I heard on the radio this morning, that a pilot of a passenger jet departing LAX claimed to have narrowly avoided being hit by a missile. It was reported that the jet was about 6,000 feet in altitude & over the ocean when the event occurred. The news report further stated that authorities believe it was possibly a flare or a "bottle rocket."
I googled but found nothing. Anyone else have some info on this? I dont recall whether it was CBS or NBC radio news.
Thanks for the update. I had just recently asked if anyone had heard anything of interest on this subject.
I did hear from Douglas Hagmann from Northeast Intelligence Network, after his illness, that the matter was still being investigated.
I should check his site!
I appreciate your ping and will do the same if any news is forthcoming.
Here's an update ping
Hope you both have been doing well since the time we posted.
It's funny, I was just thinking about this thread too.
Thanks for the ping
I heard the report and then noticed that it just went away. I wish our government would stop treating us like mushrooms.

Can you please ping me again when you get the excerpt or link posted? Thanks.
What a coincidence......as I was driving along that same stretch into work early this morning, I was thinking back to the moment when I first heard the news report on the radio about the missile attack.
I wont ever forget this & I still believe there is more to this event.
Thanks for the ping!
Please accept my apologies!
Also, I cross posted the same article here:

Would you please remove that one as well?
No problem, it's just some goofy kids playing around with shoulder fired missiles.

Here's the link to the updated missle story ping
Still, the plume of smoke was above 5000 feet. I'm not familiar with rocketry enough, but do any of those small rockets that we can build go upward close to a mile?
Thanks very much for the ping.
I note that the "inquiry" remains open.

Why am I not surprised at their "conclusion"
I thought CAIR would just blame Bill Handle for it.
Maybe those Mexican bottle rockets are a bit larger than were used to.
Thanks for letting us know, Velveeta.
Still no rocket enthusiast would launch a rocket that close to an airport. This is more then likely an act of terrorism.
