I heard on the radio this morning, that a pilot of a passenger jet departing LAX claimed to have narrowly avoided being hit by a missile. It was reported that the jet was about 6,000 feet in altitude & over the ocean when the event occurred. The news report further stated that authorities believe it was possibly a flare or a "bottle rocket."
I googled but found nothing. Anyone else have some info on this? I dont recall whether it was CBS or NBC radio news.
How do you read that??
You can pat yourselves on the back ping.
Thanks Fawn

Mark for reference.
bump!
You're welcome....it is impressive :)
Interesting read at that link, starting with the section: Passenger Air Travel - At Risk From Missiles?
It is a report of 3 boats in the marina a few days before the 'missile' incident.
Later in that column is a report of a possible missile fired at a plane on September 15, 2005.
===
Should anything happen, we know it will be officially passed off as 'accident' unless, like 9-11, it is too difficult to explain something happening to several planes at the same time.
Thanks....I'll have to read that...

An IRPD is an acronym for an Improvised Rocket Propelled Device that contains an explosive "head." Some time ago, several locations in the LA area were raided, and materials to make IRPDs were found. The "cover" used was a "meth lab" was raided.
Further, the al Battar (al Qaeda paramilitary training manuals) from last year provided instructions on how to construct such devices.
Feel free to use/quote/post the above as you wish. I will be putting it up later on our site.
His replies are very well written.
I think they have most of the facts we have uncovered...but have you seen reference to the radar data on this thread?
Wow!
Thanks.
Interesting, especially about the "cover" meth lab statement.

Jesus H. *shudder* That guy lived about 200' from where I go get physical therapy every other day. And funny, it's been kept completely under wraps even locally, and we usually hear about the hazmat teams having to be deployed, etc.
When this story first broke, the first response anyone had: Hrmph... must be AlQaeda.

Did you see the manual about missiles and rockets we found on the jihadi site?
Yes, I did.
It was quite a comprehensive manual.
