I don't know about what he said about Miers. I am thinking that he has been like a pit bull on the Oil for Food scandal, and has done much to help change the perception the public had that the UN was sacrosanct. I think this is a valuable contribution.
nice to see you malia....and you are welcome to butt in with your thoughts on Hillary---you do save it up and then vent but good. You go girl!
"Question NO one will answer. HOw come Rassmussen shows him at 46%? The same pollster who nailed the 2004 race now gets ignored by "Conservatives" who cling to the illusions presented in the Dinasour Media?"
Good call. Think about it for a moment. After watching a little bit of the round table discussion on MTP with fat Timmy...you got the impression that they are hoping ( and espesially David Gregory) that Murtha somehow changed the debate on Iraq. So what? Why does that matter...I'll tell you why...they see Bush's #'s going back up because they know they can't offer anything positive and the public is tiring of the ankle biting.
Thanks D1. Wish I could've been here to help you out this afternoon, but the G-Men were playing the Seahawks and I don't get to see my Giants often. Exciting game.
From the looks of things you handled matters real well. You kept focused on the subject matter, even if your opponent was off base, time and time again. He really enjoys being the center of attention and getting lost in an endless rhetorical spin that mostly goes nowhere. I read some of his roughly 40 posts on this thread and found most of them to be lacking in substantive points. He lost the argument and instead of backing out quietly, he chose to indulge in obfuscation and sophistry. The red herring approach. LOL
Later.
Oops I missed that. What did he say if you don't mind?
Polls are strange creatures...
Fist of all, polls tell you more about those doing the polling most of the time than they do of those polled...
I would love to see a poll with questions like:
Do you think Bin Laden would like to see the US withdraw our troops from Iraq immediately?
Do you think the Sunni's would like to see the US withdraw our troops from Iraq immediately?
Do you think that all the terrorists really want is a Democrat in the White House?
Do you think the terrorists would stop committing terror acts if we impeached Bush?
Do you think people of all nations should be able to enter the US at any time they like through the Mexican borders?
just a few......
I also think that Bush's approval numbers are going up because of the action the House took last Friday. Although it was not Bush's doing.....(bwahahah- just Rove) it helped to re-energize the base.
Hey I'm glad you were able to catch the game. You didn't miss much here.
It's so strange to watch someone damn you for suggesting something that would certainly help the person they claim to support. Bush is getting beaten up the most right now with regard to the war. I've certainly got no vested interest in seeing that continue.
Have a good week.
Both are headed for conference:
H.R.1815 (aka S.1042) The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2006
H.R.2863 Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2006
Also, the ANWR was in the Senate budget bill, correct?? but, the House took it out ...
Drilling in ANWR is part of a budget reconciliation package, which I think is referred to as "Deficit Reduction Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 2005". See S.1932, and note there are three versions. S.1932.ES (Engrossed as Agreed to or Passed by Senate) includes leases to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. S.1932.EAH (Engrossed Amendment as Agreed to by House) contains no provision for drilling in ANWR.
But that was my whole point from last week!! I never said what you kept badgering me about, it was posted by someone else! I kept asking you, "why do you keep including me in your replies to *****?" and you just kept right on badgering me for link to some poll number. Really ticked me off, because I didnt post it!
As usual thank you....I guess I should do my own homework...but, I spend so much time just looking for what I need, I usually end up giving up...
I have finally figured how to get vote counts, and who voted AYE and NAY....but, that is about it.
Then, Thomas had to go and change their set up...oh well.
I go scared for awhile, thinking the Free Republic would go down for the night..and we wouldn't want rod to miss the chance to go through all of the terrific posts and pick a winner tonight...
Sorry, other than he used Conyers' name with great respect, I can't remember now.
Maybe it was in regards to the HEARINGS Rep. Conyers conducted - yes, that was it! Best I can do right now.
:)
Thanks for the kind words, TX. I shouldnt have let the issue get to me..
We could not have that happen could we LOL
I thought it was my computer so I rebooted and then found that it still would not acess FR.
Otherwise, forget about it. Don't waste your time or energy. They hate his guts and will do anything to bring him down.
"Might" is the operative word....
I remember hearing quite a few people that were surprised that Reagan was given such high "ratings" from dems and pundits that bashed him all the time when he was POTUS...during the week of his lying in state and funeral...
But, I get the feeling President Bush would get quite a bit of "cheering" were he to depart this earth any time soon.
I feel like the dems and MSM have contributed to a type of "thugocracy" here in the USA...no respect, truth to power, hate America...blame America...
I don't think she and Pitt did any damage while they were over there (at least none I heard of); I don't think anyone is doing the damage Clinton and Carter have been doing.
We had to drive over to Bullhead City today and picked up the Vegas talk show station, the host was definitely not a fan of dingy Harry and I got the impression a lot of his callers are not enamored of the man, either. Most were favorable to the President, but unfavorable to his communication skills and blamed his poor communication on a lot of his low numbers.
