YOu guys have worn me out tonight.I'm crawling.
You mention a very important point. Although the viewership on the talking head shows isn't stellar, choice clips from those shows are shown on the major news networks all week. It takes one numbskull making an inappropriate comment, to suck up all the air time good comments should be getting all week. Even if the good comments didn't show up on the news programs, at least we wouldn't be contributing to burying ourselves all week.
Coburn
Inhofe
Kyl
Sessions
Coleman
There are probably a few more. The problem is that the gasbags like Warner and Lott get most of the media coverage.
Reid may have been a good guy a long time ago before he became involved in promoting his Son's careers by raping Nevada protected Lands by Sponsoring Bills that let them Build on those lands. He went from Promoting them to trying to protect them from their "controversial deals". He does not have the temperment and Health to handle all the dirty pool that Daschle and Pelosi did and do. HE seems to be getting more "squirrely: all the time. When I see him I think of a scared guy looking over his shoulder expecting to get clobbered by something or somebody.
I'm butting in I know but .....she is more than a crow ...
We all know hillary is a very dangerous person - out there spewing her venom! Our big battle for 06 & 08 will be hearing what she says - the media protects her so. I remember, as 1st L, she campaigned for Schumer and the media did cover her speech - until she cut them short! There she was - first lady of the land and filled the auditorium with hate aimed at the Republicans, it was appalling! I have already heard her attacks first during the LA hurrican with their Gov. Then a few weeks ago speaking in NY saying President Bush was going to kill everyone because he did not have enough vaccine and he did not care if "you all die". She is vicious, she is mean, and the media love her!!!
You could be right...I don't know.
But, I do see Miss Marple's point about trying to get someone on the "team" that WILL get the MSM attention. I know that even I paid attention to Jolie's story today...and I HATE, with all CAPS---any kind of celebrity story..
I will NOT read People, Us..or any kind of magazine like that...and I turn the channel when Fox or any news station is in their celebrity doings segment.
Perhaps that is why I am ignorant of Jolie's public disdain for President Bush and the war....I don't pay attention to that stuff...
BUT...today's story did affect the US, in that, any kind of influence by Americans in Pakistan can hurt or help us...so, I am sure Condi and Bush were very interested and concerned about what the two of them might say/do over there.
However...she does spend time bringing attention to things that most of the elites would rather ignore...and Miss Marple was just (I think) suggesting that the "name power" might not hurt...when the MSM is particularly smitten with "pretty stars do good" type stories.
Miss Marple and I are "discussing" how Bush can get better and more favorable publicity from the MSM...so I welcome all opinions, yours included...thank you.
McCain's "torture amendment" is attached to two bills (so far).
At least the DoD act has yet to go through committee.

(heh)
Coleman isn't great. He was pretty rude to Miers if I remember correctly. His voting record is good, but not great.
I am at loss at how anyone could look at what the US economy has had to go through since the end of 2000- thru Hurricane Rita...
and NOT be impressed with the way that President Bush's tax cuts and such have not only kept our economy afloat...but thriving!!
The gas prices, down over a dollar a gallon, before the coldest part of winter...the stock market..that just after Katrina, hovered at the 10,000 mark...threatening to once again dip under 10,000...NOW is at almost 11,000.
If any dems wants to cry about the poor NO people that are unemployed and poor because of Katrina...I heard on a talk show last week that the ILLEGAL immigrants that are being hired to clean the Superdome..and the nasty streets and such from the Hurricane are NOT making minimum wages..but upwards of $18.00 per hour...
BUT, do you see the dems condemning the displaced for NOT going down and taking these jobs???
NO...you hear that Bush isn't doing enough to get them free housing for the next year!!! blech
Get that margarita, rod .. lol .. it's time .. you gotta do what you gotta do ;).
I disagree with Jeff Sessions....I would go to bat for him anyday!
Great point...just think, out of 6 hours or debating on that Friday of the House vote on withdrawing from Iraq...
about the ONLY clip that was shown repeatedly, was Jean Schmitt being shouted down for supposedly calling Murtha a coward...which is ironic...because if you listen to the actual clip..instead of the newsreader's TAKE on the clip...
you would hear Schmitt NOT call Murtha a coward...just those that would cut and run.
If the shoe fits, Murtha...
What have any of them accomplished? Don't tell me what they believe or what they said; talk to me about results. Let's see. Have any of them got a handle on spending, on border control, on social security reform? They are all good at talking and getting re-elected. Other than that they are all whistles on plows.
I do not think that anyone on this thread is that far apart. There are some people that will always start to bellyache and pick at everything, then others will agree 100 percent with the Administration and Pubbies. I hope that most of us are in between. Yes the President's job approval is lower, but not anywhere near as low as the MSM make it out to be, he has had a lot on his plate that would put any President's numbers way down. We could do more to shame and prod the So called Pubbies into speaking in a positive, intelligent, informative way or shut the hell up. We also need to punish the Turncoats by running someone against them in the Primary. We can double our phone calls and e-mails to Congress and the MSM. Sometimes complaining to the local affiliates has more punch them going directly to NY or Atlanta or wherever to complain. We can complain to the Local Newspaper that excerpts Articles from the NY TImes or Boston Globe or whomever. There are no easy solutions, we are in a war here in AMERICA. Our Guys and Gals will win the Wars overseas, it is up to us to verbally pound the Hell out of their detractors, and win the War in America. I know you do more than your part, you are one of the Soldiers in the Stateside Army. The Freeper Brigade.
Yep, if the shoe fits. I think it fits rather nicely, but I sure got flack round here for pointing out what was stated on his web page.
I like him too, but name one thing he has accomplished. I like most of the names on Miss Marples list too, but other than having their heart in the right place what have they done. Where are the results?
Who-HOOOOOOOO!!!
I KNEW I would smoke you out, if I mentioned bills that haven't been passed in Congress.
You never let me down...
NOw..is the DOD bill the ONLY one that hasn't been passed? Or do they have a couple that are still in conference?
Also, the ANWR was in the Senate budget bill, correct?? but, the House took it out of their bill..but it has/has not gone to conference yet??
Once you undertake to go down the wrong road, to agree to dishonesty, to sully our soul, amybe what you become is a Harry Reid, and it's not us the's worried about being behind him watching.
