Look, you can find polls that back your miopic view if you like, but the fact is that Bush's overall approvals have tanked.  I'm not sure what the exact focus was for the 27% poll I mentioned, but it was valid and just because you don't want to believe it, there are many out there who will.  Besides, if the 27% percent poll was as bogus as you state, then our side should be prepared to focus on it and reveal it to be just what you stated, but they don't.  Your take on it is nice, but that doesn't mean a hill of beans when we're talking about public opinion.  You're already on our side.  You don't need to be won over.  You're not in danger of having your negative views of Bush reinforced.

If you want to quote 45 and 72% polls fine.  If you want to believe that 72% of the public is on our side, be my guest.  I'll disregard you and work with others who want to improve our situation.

We're gettting our asses handed to us non-stop on weekend talking head shows, and your take on my addressing that is to attack based on free-speech.  LMAO, and you want to be taken serious?

You cannot win the debate by allowing the left to score points unchallenged.  That is exactly what is taking place on the talking head shows.  Employing attack tactics and misdirecting the focus to some poll you don't agree with is pointless.  The fact is that leftists come on these shows with talking points at the tip of their tongues, and the folks that represent our side have mouths full of mush when it's time to respond.  Do you disagree with this description.  If so, just say so.  You'll be in the vast minority here who think that, but hey, you're entitled.

But that's right, just ignore the facts and buy hook line and sinker the Dinosaur Media directed spin lie. What is it going to take for the Stone Cold "Conservatives" to wake up to the fact that the Dinosaur Media is NOT your friends and buying into it's spin lies is the equivalent of listening to Radio Berlin in 1943 and expecting to hear "news".

I can't understand a person that recognizes what's going on, then completely misses the connection that we need to counter what takes place on these shows.  And what is the best way to counter? Why to place people on the shows that can coherently express hard cold facts that shoot down the left's lies, right at the moment they make them.  Why is that such a foreign concept to you?

Really does show you what a snake pit Washington DC is. Senators cast one of their most important votes ever and it was clearly decided for most of them based on Election politics NOT their duty.

I am seriously considering all of the possible candidates for 2008. To me, the very first thing the candidate must be is strong on national defense, the war on terror, and support for the troops. He must be a leader, not someone who is pushed around by handlers. He should be able to state the case for the GOP without apology.

Allen is giving serious signs that he doesn't meet my criteria. I need to see more leadership, more knowledge of the issues, and more outspoken support for the troops. I hope that I am misjudging him.

Actually NO. Sorry but you all keep empowering the Sunday shows with far more influence and power then they actually have. Ever looking at the RATINGS?

Late to respond but I think that Mccain is more like "the Flubadub", and Mara is like "dilly dally".

I understand, and it's a tough dilema. I've never been impressed by Lugar. He was a warm body in a seat as far as I was concerned.

Look, as bad as he is, at least he's no Boxer or Feinstein, although folks like him CAN frustrate you to no end.

Even with low ratings, millions if not tens of millions of US citizens watch those shows. The left spews and the right punts.

What's your opinion of Condi's chances (assuming she could be talked into running)?

They well not want major players in the adminstration on that often as they may well feel that it dilutes the impact when they are on.

Also they know that whatever they say it will be spun so why bother unless they want to say something really important that cannot be ignored.

Also I still seriously doubt how much they can insisit someone appears on a TV program. Surely that would be government controlling the media and the last thing they would want to be seen as doing this.

Is it not Wallace's job to refute these lies when Biden's spews them? I say that it is better late than never, but he has a responsibility to do better and not let these lies stick out there. We all not that the Frenchman Mr Joseph Bidon' is a plagiarizer, we know that he is a liar, we also know that he is a cocky S.O.B. about both, having no shame when he is caught. We need to help Chris Wallace do his job, maybe sending him advance E-mail getting him up to snuff.

No, I am not the myopic one. I actually know what I am talking about as opposed to "Conservatives" who mindlessly repeat the Dinosaur Media's spin lies. You all really really really need to learn Patton's Dictum "

Never Take Council of Your Fears"

I completely nuked your nuts "27% Bush Approval" line but instead of admitting MAYBE you don't know the facts, you cling to your lecture everyone about how to do things dogma. Actually, the 27% line SHOWS you do not know anything and MIGHT need to actually listen a bit to people WHO DO.

What do you Whine all the Time "Conservatives" think you accomplish when you spend 100% of your time echoing the DNC's lies? Panicking down the PR line THEY prepared for the Chicken Little is EXACTLY what they WANT you to do.I have given you both the facts. You keep screaming your opinions back at me. Sorry but REALITY and YOUR FEELINGS are two completely different things. You base EVERYTHING on polls that I demonstrated several posts backs are complete manipulated frauds. Did either of you even BOTHER TO LISTEN?

It would appear not. Instead you keep screaming the same opinions that I have all ready completely nuked multiple times. Sorry but REALITY does NOT work the way your feelings tell you it should. You keep assigning way more influence and power to the Dinosaurs then they actually have. Rush Limbaugh in ONE radio program reaches 2-3 times as many people as ALL the Sunday shows combined. It is NOT 1971, Iraq is NOT Vietnam and the world does NOT revolve around the Dinosaur Media. I know you don't want to deal with it but the world HAS changed since your glory days.

On Newswatch last night...I heard one of the panelists mention that most 18-29 year olds in America get their "news" from the Jon Stewart show on COMEDY CENTRAL...

I don't know if you have seen it...but, it is a satirical look at the days news...IMHO, pretty left leaning...

So...we know how they will have their opinions shaped...in fact, I asked my son...and he is 27 and agreed that his friends get their political opinions from that show...

The left spews and the right punts.

Exactly right. I will no longer defend Republicans who constantly cave and kowtow to the MINORITY dems. Nor, will I be intimidated by "head in the sand posters" whose rosy outlook resembles lollypop lanes and chocolate rivers and gumdrop lamposts. The approvals numbers ARE tanking and its because of a very effective media campaign whose strings are being pulled by Soros, the DNC and the media. For anyone not see that is crazy..

I am going to interject myself into this debate, because an increasing argument over this issue is going to distract us from what REALLY needs to be done, which is to get our message out over the objections of the media liberals.

It is true that the Sunday shows don't have very many viewers. HOWEVER, the shows produce sound clips which are wound into the stories of the coming week, and very often the press and democrat agenda is determined by what makes news on those shows. Consequently, squishes like Warner and Lugar contribute nothing to the coming week's news cycle and are very often detrimental to the GOP making its case.

As I said, guests are not determined by the White House, unless they send out Rumsfeld, Cheney, or Rice. President Bush is a guaranteed draw, but he doesn't do well when interviewed by someone like Russert (probably because he is worried that he will lose his temper) and so shouldn't appear. Reagan Man is right that the White House should be fielding more articulate people and sending Rumsfeld out last week was a good start. I imagine Thanksgiving weekend was given a pass as there are few viewers. However, I think that they should have done more ...maybe letting Rice grant some interviews.

The President cannot order the senators around. However, I would like to see a little more effort on corraling that group of windbags. I intend to do my part tomorrow and will be needling Lugar's staff about his crummy response today.

One thing I would like is for the President to grant an interview to Wallace or Hume on Fox. I think he wuld do better than with one of the networks.

In addition, the President needs to have some appearances that will entice coverage by the media. Heck, have another carrier landing...that will get coverage as they all hope he will crash and when he doesn't then they can rant about it (while showing footage) for the next year. LOL!

Getting articulate Republicans onto the Sunday shows is a tough nut to crack. If the Lugar/Hagel/McCain group wasn't available, would they invite other senators? Or would they suddenly feel the need to interview Mayor Bloomberg? This is just one tough problem we face. Another is the absolute travesty of coverage on the war. I heard someone on Fox today comment that "the press has decided there will be NO heroes in this war." I think she was right, and this is a terrible thing.

Polls are great. I read one that said President Bush's approval rating is increasing faster then Bill Clinton can unzip his pants.

Also saw one that confirms 90% of Americans prefer President Bush over either John Kerry OR Al Gore, and neither Gore or Kerry could be trusted with national security. Voters are leery about Republicans raising taxes but are 100% certain Democrats would raise them.

Joining late here .. different church schedule today, plus a walk to Kinko's for that which is priced like gold .. $32.00 for a nominal amount of colored ink from HP for my printer. Anyone know if I can use 2 black cartridges instead of 1 of each?

My brother's father-in-law says that Russert will not be in NBC 2 years from now per the discussion on a private elite list.

Gee .. wouldn't that be just in time for Timmy and Johnny to spend more time together ..maybe as a presidential team? Who knows what Timmy will be doing after the Plamegate real details are revealed.

But, ooh .. I forgot

"I'm quite frankly going out, seeing whether I can gather the kind of support" needed for a bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, said Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.).

Poor Timmy .. he'll be so torn.

I hate talking about polls....but I found one I heard about yesterday interesting...

It said that 77% of the MEDIA believes the War in Iraq is a mistake...and is going very bad.

THAT is the story right there....when the information about the war...and the people that interview people about the war, are so negative...it is darned near impossible to expect anything POSITIVE to be gleaned from those newscasts, right??
