Operation Digital Camera: Taking the photos of our troops that the Media won't take.

I have an idea- why not send some digital cameras over to our guys and gals in Iraq and ask them to send back some photos for us. I will compile a list of people with servers, who will post the photos here at FR- perhaps we could use this thread for a meeting place. My hope is that blogs and friendly media can pick up the photos and spread them around a bit. What we need are:

1)People and organizations who are willing to donate cameras and get them to our troops. 2)Names of people who can receive the cameras over there and who will email the shots back to us. 3) Contacts to get the word out to people who already have digital cameras that we will post them on FR for the world to see. 4)People to bump this thread and pass the idea around.

Screw the media- lets just do the job ourselves.

Good points- but I think we will be ok if we follow the guidelines for posting photos given to the soldiers for their own blogs.

Lot of the troops have cameras they just don't all have access to a website a like FR, who can host and post their photos for free and pass the photos around to thousands of people-who are looking for good news out of Iraq.

Now that is beating the media at their own game.
