Target and Lowe's raise my anger! Banning the Salvation Army and the words "Merry Christmas." I was ROTFLMAO when I read Lowe's was selling "Holiday" trees instead of "Christmas" trees. That's one of the most ridiculous idiotic PC policy that a corporation could make.

At my store I'm already listening to the dude in the phone center remind our Home Depot customers that we have fresh-cut Christmas trees straight from North Carolina in our outside garden center ..... all shift long ..... coming next are the Christmas loop tapes that force me to listen to 10 different versions of every Christmas song ever made for eight hours a day, five days a week - for the next four or five weeks .... gaaaahhhhhhh!!!!

The GOP needs to do whatever it takes to equate attacks on Christmas with the Democrat Party and the ACLU. To begin with, they need to be vocal and loud about their disappointment in so many businesses and institutions that are disrespecting Christmas.

If the Republicans don't do it, some clever Democrats will see it as another "Sister Soljah" opportunity to demonstrate to the mindless masses that they are "into those religion and tradition things".

It just blows me away when I see Democrats jumping on issues like illegal aliens and property confiscation by eminent domain before the Republicans have even woken up. Somebody better take charge of that party, and quick.

Hmmm, I wonder what the clerks at Lowes and Target would say to me if I ask for the Kwanzaa trees?

Ever since they pulled this stunt last year, I have not set foot in one of their stores. Amen.

citing the retailer's decision to ban Salvation Army kettles

would that be the same salvation army who's kettle guard wished me "Happy Holiday" last week and I promptly corrected him with Merry Christmas ?

It's a lie.

Target has done no such thing. I checked.

I saw the "Holiday Trees" banner at Lowe's last week and I sent off this e-mail.
I was in your store yesterday looking for Christmas trees, but instead all I saw were banners advertising "Holiday Trees." I don't know what "Holiday Trees" are, so I guess I will have to look for Christmas trees elsewhere.

I buy my Christmas trees at a local church that knows what 'Holiday' is Happy.

I'm going to be one of the poor souls standing in line at 4am on Friday to buy one of those $378 hp laptops from Wal-Mart.

Bottom line: Anyone who thinks "holiday trees" is acceptable- whether they are a Christian or not, whether they celebrate Christmas or not- has no testosterone. Period. :]

I guess our moto should be: the bitter hags and gay men shall inherit the earth.

Our newspaper published something last week about the Yule tree. Someone wrote back commenting that they had heard of a Yule log, but not a Yule tree.

Sorry. I will not punish a store for not celebrating my religious holidays.

I guess there are plenty of gullible folks out there who have never considered the old adage, "Don't sweat the small stuff."

Good luck with your boycott, I hope you can find something else that pisses you off when the Christmas season is over.

Yeah, do any of the other seasonal holidays use a pine tree as part of the traditional celebration?

I shop with a lot of things in mind. Most of the Christian stores like Mardel's and Hobby Lobby are full of totally unnecessary stuff made in China. I can't avoid buying stuff from China but I can decide not to buy stuff I don't need from China. I always go to Ten Thousand Villages to Shop. I don't agree with a lot of the liberal policies of the churches that run it but I do believe that the items for sale there are part of a network which returns most of the money to the craftsmen. I also make gifts. and yes, I do occasionally shop at Target but not a lot. I think that the key is to focus on family relationships and faith. After that, I don't stress about boycotts. I know that the culture has a lot in it that disturbs me but I have little if any control over that. God is at work and he is in control. That's all I need to know.

Meanwhile, Target officials are planning to bring out "Mr. Patrick" hats and party items for the March 17 holiday.

I quit going to Lowe's years ago when I asked an employee there for help and they walked away from me. I've never had a problem once at Home Depot.
