Allah’s Waiting Room
To The Point ^ | November 17, 2005 | Dr. Jack Wheeler

Posted on 11/20/2005 2:56:09 PM PST by quidnunc

In the Military Alphabet, AWR is Alpha Whiskey Romeo. In Iraq today, it’s a code term of American soldiers. Whenever they use “AWR” or “Alpha Whiskey Romeo” in their communications, everyone knows what it really stands for: Allah’s Waiting Room. That’s what our soldiers have turned Iraq into for the terrorists, and that’s why our soldiers know they are winning this war.

That’s also why our soldiers have more contempt for MSM journalists and Democrat politicians than the Jihadi terrorists — for at least the terrorists are honest about being an enemy, instead of pretending they’re on your side while stabbing you in the back.

The Democrat distortion of the War in Iraq has become flat-out deranged. Yet for all the “alternate media’s” attempts to tell the truth, Johnny and Suzie Lunchbucket still get most of their news through the MSM, which is why a majority of the Lunchbuckets, according to polls, believe “Bush lied” to get us into the war, and that it is a war we are losing.

Both are lies, which any Democrat on Capitol Hill privy to basic intel reports knows, yet the Big Lie is a proven propaganda tool, and it’s working on the American public right now.

But not among our guys on the ground in Iraq. Let’s start with two basic ways they are winning.

First is snipers. Marine snipers. Navy SEAL snipers. Army Ranger snipers. There are lots and lots of them in Iraq, they are unbelievably good at their work, which they do quietly, efficiently, and all by themselves with no press coverage. They are taking out Jihadis one by one, a silent pop from nowhere and goodbye, all over Iraq.

One single Marine sniper currently on his third tour has personally racked up well over a hundred confirmed kills. The total number of Jihadis taken down by snipers is classified, but it’s certainly many thousands by now.

Second is the fifty battalions of Iraqi soldiers who are completing their training and will soon be loosed upon the Jihadis. These folks are fighting for their own country and will be ruthless in doing so. Couple this with the increasingly good intel from Iraqis on the street, Sunnis and Shias, who are cooperating with Coalition Forces and the emerging Iraqi military because they are totally fed up with the Jihadis.

As the evidence mounts that the Jihadis are losing in Iraq, the more desperate the Democrats’ and the media’s attempts to suppress and deny the evidence.

So I thought I would provide you with some direct evidence of how things are really going in Mesopotamia. This is an unvarnished, personal SitRep — situation report — from a Marine who just spent seven months at “Camp Blue Diamond” near Ramadi, Iraq, deep in Apache country.

We’ll call him Jay. What follows is notes taken by his father while at home on leave. It’s an assessment, negative and positive, of the tactics, weapons, equipment, and overall situation of both the good guys and the bad guys. It is both chilling and thrilling.

Particularly his “Bottom Line” conclusion. The heroism of American soldiers like Jay makes an astounding contrast to the refusal of the American media to tell the truth about them. Jay has re-enlisted for another four years in the Marines and will be returning for a second tour in Iraq this coming January. He says he can hardly wait.

Is it true photos of Helen Thomas, Whoopi Goldberg, Nancy Pelosi, Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore are hanging on the walls of Allah's Waiting Room?

Thought it was virgins...not prostitutes. My mistake.

Very enlightening. One thing caught my eye:

In the Baghdad area and south, most of the insurgents are Iranian inspired (and led) Iraqi Shiites. The Iranian Shiia have been very adept at infiltrating the Iraqi local governments, police forces and military. The have had a massive spy and agitator network there since the Iran-Iraq war in the early 80's. Most of the Saddam “Baathist” loyalists were killed, captured or gave up long ago.

Iran would be another war in itself, kind of like putting th e cart before horse. But maybe something can be done against Iran in the political realm, assuming the Iraqis aren't resisting Iranian infiltration.

Today’s soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen are learning what we learned in Viet Nam long ago. From the looks of TV news show ratings and falling subscriptions for newspapers, a lot of people are learning.

But today there is the internet, and in the time it took those servicemen to tell just one person, several thousands of people can learn just how cooked the MSM news reports really are.

Hey Quid,

Thanks for this post. I hope Jay is safe enough and kickin' ass.

Too bad the media slimes do not do investigative reporting
with men home on leave to get this kind of picture. I am almost tempted to find a squad marine and send him my Benelli Tactical Nova 12 ga. with a case of fleshette sabots and a case of Sauvestre Slugs. Merry Xmas!

Great Post quinunc

My boy leaves for Iraq in about 3 weeks. This will be his second tour in Iraq with the 4TH ID (HELL ON WHEELS). I am throughly convinced that without the support the enemy is getting from the Main Stream Media and the traitor Democrats in Congress this war would almost be over. We are winning every battle just like we did in Vietnam and the bloody media and left wing democrats try and portray everything as a failure. We are kicking there butts from one end of Iraq to the other end of Iraq. The only reason the enemy is hanging on is they think they can win in the battle for the American publics mind. The only reason they think this is the propaganda coming from the media and the democrat party.

Much American blood has been spilled because of the media and the democrats. You can not measure the contempt that I feel toward them. They are putting my son in danger. Their actions have caused the death of some of his friends.

To try and explain the spirit these men have is difficult. However, what happened when he was home on leave from his first tour may. He was happy to be home for two weeks but was worried the whole time about "his guys." and wanted to return quickly. He is a medic and was afraid that something might happen and he should be there for them instead of someone else. These men will lay their lives down without any hesitation to save their brothers in arms. They are the best, none are better.

I loath and hate the main stream media and the democrat leftists.

They would have to cover it. As much as they would try to cover it up, they would have to cover it. It would be too newsworthy to ignore.

No, they wouldn't, it would end up on the cutting room floor and our guys know it. It's going to take a live press conference, with most of the world watching. Even then, with the five second cut off I wouldn't put it past the dishonest journalist to cut them off so it can't be heard.

What they can't cut off though, is 160,000 soldiers all returning home to tell their friends and families. That word will begin traveling fast, and the local papers will print it. The small local papers are the only ones who still have honest people working for them.

Thanks for the ping,Calpernia!

This is an outstanding post quidnunc.I think most of us are intrinsically aware of our success in Iraq, but to read about it in the words of those there is truly moving and inspiring.

"As the evidence mounts that the Jihadis are losing in Iraq, the more desperate the Democrats’ and the media’s attempts to suppress and deny the evidence."

Correct. The elephant in the living room is that we are winning the war and in fact doing so easily. That spells doom for the Dems, who are entirely wedded to disaster and failure. It is not going to materialize for them. So the closer actual victory gets - the election, Saddam's sentencing, leaders caught, Iraqi units taking over defense responsibilities, etc - the louder they must wail.

The dissonance this creates will build until it is total, at the moment the clouds part and it becomes clear for the first time - we've actually won. And then the Dems will literally not have the first idea what to do.

Perhaps we should bring some of our troops home. Part of me would like to see the Navy SEAL snipers turned loose to hunt the enemy within.

What if agroup of returned soldiers, no longer in the service (so they're not breaking any military discipline), did a sit-down hunger-strike in front of the NYT building? In the snow. With Fox News covering it every day. And Rush going there in person to talk to them on the air. And Bush even dropping by to "hear their concerns". Or at least sending Cheney.

I don't know if it is with snipers; but I am sure we are hunting the enemy within.

And when the Iraqi battalions become "ruthless" against the jihadi's in their midst...the left will throw a freakin' fit.

"M-16 rifle : Thumbs down. Chronic jamming problems with the talcum powder sand. The sand is everywhere. You feel filthy 2 minutes after coming out of the shower. The M-4 carbine version is more popular because it's lighter and shorter, but it has jamming problems also. Marines like the ability to mount the various optical gunsights and weapons lights on the picatinny rails, but the weapon itself is not great in a desert environment. Everyone hates the 5.56mm (.223) round. Poor penetration on the cinderblock structure common over there and even torso hits can’t be reliably counted on to put the enemy down."

This sounds like the same complaints about the M-16 and the the .223 round that were made in Vietnam, thirty years ago. It is a pity that we have not gone to a bigger round in a more reliable rifle, given the time frame and the lessons learned.
