Even when Bush hits approval lows, he's still better than Democrats.

The polls are accurate. The best thing we have going is that negativity about the GOP hasn't translated into a positive for the Dems.

That's amazing. A gift.

"We are winning the war in Iraq."

There. I said it for him. Now President Bush has to respond with something else for a change.

It also means we can turn it back in our favor if we do it before the Dems figure out how to make it good for them.

Bottom line: No matter how badly the Republicans suck...the American Public thinks the Democrats are even worse.

We won't know anything in this regard until the 2006 elections. They might be the most important mid-term elections in recent memory.

These polls are not really accurate unless they are of likely voters.

Still, 58% say 'saying the Iraq war was a mistake' hurts the troops. 55% say 'stay in Iraq until the job is done'. Highest priority for voters: GAS PRICES

Both sides suck in my humble opinion. They are not doing their jobs. Getting paid and sitting on their collective butts while the Republic crumbles. Sounds like Rome.

Polls are meaningless and often inaccurate. Why waste the time posting them??

Worst case scenario, "throw out the bums" mentality.

We have more bums, we lose more seats.

Or its a status quo election much like we saw on Tuesday.

Aka, I see your Casey and raise a Mark Kennedy.

The results of the next poll...

Are you a pessimist?
80 % Yes
5% No
15% I'm too bummed to even think about it.

However, as the party in power the low approval on republicans can lead to a turnover.

My guess is that if the republicans try to respond, they will do it all wrong. You have to explain to people that you are doing a good job and getting good results, NOT apologize and promise to do better. The latter approach means you are wrong and will move toward he dem position. That would be a disaster.

Hogwash. Every mid-term election is important. I'd argue that 2002 was much more important than 2006 will be simply because it gave Bush a stronger Congress to work with for confirming USSC judges...as for his agenda, well, that's been another story entirely.

I agree, but I wanted to post a headline showing 'ALL OF THE ABOVE' not just the President.

Also, if you look at the entire line of poll questions, the Iraq war support is not as bad as it seems.

I agree with you.

Rasmussen is the most reliable.

He called Virginia right on the money.

My warning to you is if you do not like to hear punditry on Fox on polls, tonight is a good night to watch the Discovery Channel.

Both parties stink at this point. Neither is satisfying me. These polls are accurate from what I am seeing and hearing personally. The Republicans who sat up with me on the last two election nights on pins and needles really couldn't care at this moment and I am close to that.

If the Republican blow off these polls like many here want to do, because its unpleasant to contemplate, then it will be a massacre.
