So far, Prop. 75 is ahead by 60,000 votes. If it stays that way, the unions will be in big trouble the next time around! Even if all the others fail. Which, sadly, appears to be the case.

But the other side spent $200 million. How do you win if you can only raise a quarter of that?

ARNOLD SOUNDS GREAT TONIGHT.

The hell isn't not a Liberal/Conservative thing. It's pro-Life issue that pits illusory abortion "rights" against parental nullification. It's guaranteed that this issue has absolute partisan support.

I am pessimistically optimistic about 75 and 73 as well.

He is an optimist, even in the face of these results. Reagan and Rush Limbaugh are optimists. Optimists rule.

There are some liberals who believe the right-to-abortion is universal, regardless of age. More moderate liberals would say that while parental notification is good in theory, abusive parents might threaten the daughter and the judicial system would be too scary and bureaucratic for a young girl to handle. I don't believe they're right, but their argument seems to have worked.

73 even being close is inexcusable. It failing is truly remarkable.

What is he going to do now? Seriously? He's disappointed, as are we all, but now the idiot legislature has zero reason to work with him. Now that the unions have commandeered the budget, the only thing they can do is raise taxes.

The good thing about living in a quasi-free-market democracy is that no matter how stupid or ill-conceived the government is, most decisions you make for yourself.

Even if 73 goes down in flames, the vast majority of girls can continue to confide in their parents and refrain from having abortions.

The good news is that if 75 passes, conservative union members will have an easier time of choosing not to contribute to dem-witted campaigns.

The bad news is fire arm bans in SF which DO limit our choices, and in unconstitutional ways.

There's always hope.

I still think that Prop 75, at the least, will pass.

"Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're are only hope." - "Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're are only hope." - "Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're are only hope."

Star Wars fans will remember that video played by R2D2 with Princess Leah pleading for assistance in the first movie back in 1977.

Well, we'll see how round two goes. I don't think the unions can spend $240 million in a little over a year. Perhaps we should hope they do. If so the third time might be the charm, as we watch the dust rise over the imploding unions.

If you want to blame someone for this loss we need to all look in the mirror. 19% turnout in Orange county, 18.4% in SD even with the mayor race, far less than that in Riverside in San Bernardino.

The kooks in the bay area turned out 35%+ and our turnout was crap, that's why we lost today.
