It's astonishing how so many Californians seem to like the idea of minors getting abortions without their parents knowing about it.

I admire Arnie. I don't agree with him on everything, but I think he's genuinely trying to clean up CA. I'd bet my bottom dollar he wins reelection next year.

Speaking as an outsider, this seems ridiculous to me. I don't think most people believe that he "wants to hurt" anyone.
These people never miss an opportunity for a Wellstone moment.

Considering people here back abortion rights, its amazing Prop. 73 has a chance at all. What this election has exposed is the vacuousness of the Left. They have no positive agenda, no ideas and no momentum. Letting em keep bashing Arnold - they'll make him appear a sympathetic figure next year since they don't know when to stop.

However, just how many adults voting do you think have children that are minors?
To: avant_garde
By having a panel do the redistricting, it would make the races more competitive. I believe it would make them more entrench than they are now!
I agree. Look at the 9-11 Circus. Funny how all those Clintonistas ended up on it and were not removed when their conflict of interest was glaringly apparent. There is a reason Dims always want an "Independent Commission". Like Commies, they always make sure THEIR people run the "Independent Commission".

The classified employees union was conventioning in Vegas this summer and they all had anti Arnie buttons. They confidently said "We'll get him out." Remember classified are the uneducated employees working for school districts.

Why on earth would a parent not want to know if their child is pregnant? You'd have to be a totally derelict parent.

Always remember that it's hard to win a referendum. People who don't care about an issue one way or another tend to vote "no". It shows how strongly the public opposes same sex marriage that initiatives to ban it pass by such wide margins. Also, abortion is an issue where it's easier for the left to blur things ("What if a girl has been raped by her uncle who has AIDS?", etc.), and the blurring leads to people voting "no" as a cautionary measure.
Hopefully 73 will pass.

Yes, Orange County is very conservative.
When those votes get counted, the tide may turn.
