You can see how rapidly the Arnold surge is eroding before your very eyes can't you? It is due to the trickle of today votes from liberal counties.

No wonder Reinhardt held that the state shares in parental rights. At least half the state agrees with him. Looney tunes man.

The teacher's measure will fail by about 8% I would guess. Granted that is a wild one. We shall see.

This has been FAR from a GOP wipeout that some have predicted (and even tried to confirm) tonight! Let's look at the facts:

1) Corzine (D) wins NJ Governorship. Forrester was the underdog from day one, and a dem replaces a Dem. No biggie. Still, many assumed Corzine would just walk into the mansion without a fight. Hardly. DEM RETAIN

2) Kaine wins VA Governorship. The night's biggest disappointment. Kilgore had a lead early and lost it. Still, not a switch, but a DEM RETAIN...HOWEVER:

3) Before tonight, the Democrats held two of VA's top three elected offices. After tonight, the REPUBLICANS WILL HAVE 2 OF 3.

4) Mayor Bloomberg (R, sorta) wins big in NYC. Come 2009, the Dems will not have elected a NYC mayor in 20 years.

5) Liberal Democratic three-term mayor of Manchester, NH, Bob Baines, was defeated tonight by Republican Frank Guinta. John kerry, Evan Bayh, and Joe Biden all stupmed for Baines.

6) Let's take these ten state propositions tonight as being the most important for conservatives: the Texas Gay Marriage Amendment PASSED; the four dfem-backed Ohio initiatives ALL FAILED; Props 73, 74, 75, 76, and 77 in California...three of the five PASSING as of now. If things stay as they are, that's 8 out of 10 for our side.

So, isn't this a better night than we might be thinking?

California is whacked. Why is the abortion notification one so close?

I was listening to a Bay Area radio station this morning (KNEW) and a woman called in whose husband is a teacher. She said that union members CAN opt out of having their dues directed to political causes, but ONLY IF they pay 100% of their dues up front, all at once! Is that true?

I want to see the today vote in LA county on the parental notification before interring it. But it looks like only the union dues thing is in the hunt. Unions are so yesterday, and California is so tomorrow.
