Maybe Freepers should write the ads for these things.

Hey, if the good guys could confiscate an equal 200 million to run ads, the victory would have been ours.

This is the power of money in play here.

I think we should just propose similar propositions in 2006 and 2008 if need be.

I like that they used up 200 million.
Wouldn't you like to see them desperate and having to spend it again in 2006 and 2008?

I'd rather they are spending 200 million on defense than spending it on some pathetic democrat politician they want elected.

California people need to be educated. They were subjected to a bunch of bogus but effective ads and we all know this was coming and going to be darn effective this time.

I think they will get slammed if we do this again in 2006 and 2008 if need be.

The other side really plays up the farfetched example...the girl whose parent might kill her if he thought she were pregnant...(this) girl doesn't exist and never has.

There are very, very few such girls here in California today, but keep in mind that the Muslims have plans to change this.

Geeze. They should let us. We'd come up with some pretty good stuff.

Arnold became a conservative...

Maybe I was unfair about the guilt-by-marriage part, but Arnold is no conservative. He's gladly signed into law a number of anti-Second Amendment bills, has gone out of his way to avoid standing up for pro-Life causes, champions Propositions supported by the likes of John McCain, and most of his advisors are Wilson Democ-- Republicans.

That's not the mark of a conservative.

"alameda county, the home of Barbara Lee, Pete Stark and Ellen Tauscher, three mental giants in the House of Representatives."

Ellen Tauscher is in Contra Costa County, unfortunately.

Great post. If we go down in flames tonight, let's do it: get back into the fight knowing what we know now and how to best combat it. The unions and MSM can't do anything worse than they did this time, and we can only do better.

Depends on what you consider "social liberal" because some consider his stand on homosexuals to be a make of being a "social liberal" while it hasn't got anything to do with fiscal policy.

His "brand" of "social liberal" means he's not afraid to spend the People's money on the things the People need but not over do it. If he was a big liberal he would've given them the whole $5 billion. Or increased taxes. Or signed homosexual marriage and driver's licenses for illegals. Remember his after school program initiative? It had a set of spending triggers.

The problem tonight and, generally, aren't "the Dems" because the legislature and union bureaucracy are not mainstream Democrats. They're no less than outrageous radicals.

He's not getting any credit for working with them any more than Bush has gotten any credit for working with Ted Kennedy on "No child left behind." No Republican is ever going to get credit for that. Even if Arnold had given $5 billion more in education spending, not $3 billion, they'd attack him just as vigorously.

Even when he does good for California, when he makes progress, he can't please select litmus test conservatives around these parts.

I'm pretty sure it's Riverside County. It's out the 10 and I think out of San Bernardino County. It gets muddles in my mind where the line is drawn there.

Businessmen aren't very bright, except perhaps about making money. And they can be real pigs. Big business really is too influential in the party. Also, too many of our GOP "leaders" have internalized liberal "thinking" on this issue. And finally, they aren't courageous enough to be willing to be called names.
